Secret Missions 1
JOTUNHEIM SYSTEM

Jotunheim 1

Primary Objectives Locate Drayman and escort it to the Claw
Your Ship Raptor
Wingman Spirit
Other Friendly Ships Drayman at Nav 3
Briefing Check out the three Nav points, then return to the Claw. WITH the Drayman, please. There may be Kilrathi activity at any Nav point... so stay alert.
NAV 1
6 Salthi
1 Fralthi
NAV 2
4 Gratha
NAV 3
Wave 1
4 Krant
Wave 2
3 Krant

Notes

  • It is unusual to have to take on 6 fighters at once, but try to do so without using your missiles. Stick to Mass Drivers and you'll have the missiles for taking out the Krants later. Once the Salthi escorts are gone, take out the Fralthi using Neutrons or full guns, then move on. The Gratha wing is nothing special so take them out as you would normally. Nav 3 is a matter of taking out as many Krants as you can before the Drayman jumps in. Once it does jump in, start letting rip with the missiles to thin out the Krant numbers to a manageable level. Once they're gone you can head on home.
Outcome

Success / Failure go to Jotunheim 2.

Jotunheim 2

Primary Objectives Destroy the ambush
Your Ship Raptor
Wingman Spirit
Other Friendly Ships None
Briefing We're going to launch all fighter wings on different routes through the asteroid fields. Tactical thinks that the ambush is set up at Nav Three. The wings will travel via Nav 1 through the asteroids at Nav 2 and ambush the ambush at Nav 3. Destroy them, and return.
NAV 1
4 Salthi
1 Dorkir
NAV 2
Asteroid Field
3 Krant
NAV 3
5 Gratha
1 Fralthi

Notes

  • At no point in this mission is speed essential so use your missiles whenever you feel the need. Just take your time and be careful, especially around Nav 2, and you'll be fine.
Outcome

Success / Failure go to Jotunheim 3.

Jotunheim 3

Primary Objectives Protect the Johann?
Your Ship Raptor
Wingman Spirit
Other Friendly Ships None
Briefing You'll launch immediately and go to Nav 1. If the Johann has drifted past that point, intercept them at Nav 2. Defend them from any Kilrathi in the area while they repair their ship and then escort them back to the Tiger's Claw.
BETWEEN CLAW AND NAV 1
4 Gratha
NAV 1
4 Jalthi
NAV 2
5 Rapier
1 Exeter
BETWEEN NAV 2 AND CLAW
Wave 1
4 Krant
Wave 2
4 Gratha

Notes

  • Well, what a mission... 21 fighters plus the Gwenhyvar to battle. There is no simple strategy to this mission, it requires a lot of skill. It doesn't matter when you use your missiles since you won't have enough whatever happens although they are probably of most use against the Rapiers since they are fast, powerful, and there are more of them in one go. You can always run away from fights but unless you take out the Gwenhyvar you can bet the Colonel won't be too pleased.
Outcome

Success go to BiFrost 1. Failure Claw retreats.

Comment on a mission

Comments : I %&#$ing hate this mission. Its easy on easy but then again so is a fraltha on easy. one freaken hit the kilrathi ships are bad enough but then u have to go against the pride of confeds fighters? wtf did the kilrathi get rapiers? THEY JUST CAME OUT!

Mission : Jotunhiem 3
Comments : Try to save as much of your afterburner fuel as possibble, I always run out before I get to the Gratha after the Gwenhyvar

Submitted by : Bonkus Maximus
Mission : Jotunhiem 3
Comments : All I can suggest for the Rapiers is dump everything at full guns while going head to head...the computer turns late, so fire your first volley at 3500-3000, then dip the instant you fire the 3rd one...the Rapier is almost dead.

Mission : Jotunhiem 3 (Cont.)
Comments : That will take a few tries to get it right, but you should have at least 33% gas, more than ehough to handle the Krants and Grathas, which, in comparison to the Rapiers, are simple.

Mission : Jotunheim 1
Comments : AAAAH, I have to fly alone, because just after the Dralthi-Mission (Midgard 2), the chalkboard reports death to Lt.Tanaka and I won't get her as wingman. No funerals scene. I tried replaying the Mission with the Dralthi, but it didn't change things

Submitted by : LOC
Mission :
Comments : ignore the rapiers (dodge) hit the exeter in the engines w/ everything (full guns and missiles) save some ab fuel to run after the capship buys some space :) The loss off spirit is a glitch (which can be fixed by editing the save file)

Submitted by : LTL
Mission : Jotunheim 3
Comments : I afterburned past the 1st two waves of Gratha and Jalthi, afterburned past the Rapiers, then i used the Exeter to destroy the Rapiers following me. How? Fly circles around it and let them crash into it! Blow the Exeter away, and burn it back home.

Submitted by : Dralthi
Mission :
Comments : If you're a trying to knock down all targets, it may be much easy to clear first all fighters between TC and Nav1, between TC and Nav2, and only then go fight Rapiers.

Mission : Jotunheim 3
Comments : Take out all four Gratha and all four Jalthi at the beginning for a Bronze Star.

Submitted by : Wirsing
Mission : Jontuheim 3
Comments : This mission must be some kind of insider joke :-) Whether you destroy every single enemy or just eject - it has no impact on the outcome of the series. Just play either mission 1 or 2 perfectly and destroy all fighters at mission 2 and you win.

Submitted by : Wirsing
Mission : Jontuheim 2
Comments : If the Drayman didn't make in mission 1 you have to nail the Fralthi in this mission. It will jump out after a while, but hitting it whenever your tail is clear seems to delay that. Oh, and I lost spirit after sending her home near Nav2 due to heavy damage - she must have hit a rock :(

Comments : I took out the Gwenhyvar and the Rapiers at Nav 2, but after the mission the Tiger's Claw retreated. Has anyone had this happen to them?
