Notes

  • You face three waves of fighters to begin with, but these are just to try to wear you down before sending the wave of bombers in. Try to get by without using your missiles
  • The Paktahns will all head for the station, but one of them is being flown by the Kilrathi ace Bloodmist and he will turn and attack you as soon as you get close. Ignore him and continue on to the other Paktahns. If you allow Bloodmist to distract you for too long, the Paktahns will be able to launch torpedoes at Blackmane and your mission will fail.

    Outcome

    Success go to Blackmane 2. Failure go to Ariel 1.

    Notes

  • The first two transports are under attack when you reach them at NAV 1. Take out the attackers using your missiles to get this fight over with. Then fly to within 1000 klicks of the transports to establish an autopilot link and fly home.
  • The second two transports are just sitting at NAV 2. Hold your afterburners and fly to within 1000 klicks of them then fly away as quickly as you can. They are set to blow up as soon as you come near, and if you aren't careful they'll take you with them. As soon as the first transport is destroyed, the first wave of Strakha will show up followed by the second wave.

    Notes

  • The weapons convoy is waiting for you when you launch from the Victory. Fly to within 1000 klicks of them and then autopilot
  • Nav 1 marks your first meeting with a Sorthak. They are very slow, but carry a lot of guns up front and have a powerful rear turret. They can also take a lot of punishment. Your best chance is to get behind it and slightly to the side where the turret can't get you and pound away.
  • Don't let any enemies get close to the transports. The Strakhas in particular will try to attack them, but their relatively weak weapons make their chances of taking one out small.

    Comments : Against heavy fighter/bombers, have your wingman attack your target with you. Their rear turret can only target one of you at a time, and you can both rip through the heavy armor before shields can repair.DefendBlackmaneW/f ullSalvos OnBombers.

    Comments : Unlike it is said here, if you lost Locanda 2 you get different mission set in Blacmane. IE You will never meet Bloodmist.

    Comments : The conversation with Flash before Blackmane 3 does contain a choice. You can either choose to put her back on the roster or let Eisen decide. If you choose the latter, he puts her on the roster anyway, but chastises you for passing the buck.

    Comments : The easiest way to complete Blackmane 3 is to link with the weapon transports, get nav map, select "Blackmane base" and autopilot there and there will be no enemies. On your return to the Victory you will receive congratulations from Wis
