Briefing
|
The Eisen carrier group has leapfrogged ahead of the Midway and is clearing a path for us to the Kilrah jump point. This enemy carrier group, although posing no threat to the Midway, could place the Eisen force in jeopardy. The Midway will launch a strike group to attack the carrier, eliminating the threat. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie wings will deploy to this NAV point. There, your Alpha Wing will disable the carrier's turrets and shield towers, then join Charlie Wing in eliminating any fighter cover. This will clear the way for Bravo to deliver their torpedos. When the carrier has been stopped, return to the Midway.

Notes
So you chose to fly the latest in Confed fighter technology. Its fast, it pitches and rolls like nothing else, and its got one hell of a missile selection including Tracker MIRVs. These babies fire without lock before splitting in to five Friend or Foe missiles which just lock on to the nearest fighter.
You should have no trouble taking out the enemies with your hot new hardware, so just take out everyone and start work on the turrets so you can go home.
Outcome
Success and choose Vampire go to Hrissith 2a. Success and choose Devastator or failure go to Hrissith 2b

Briefing
|
The Eisen carrier group has leapfrogged ahead of the Midway and is clearing a path for us to the Kilrah jump point. Enemy forces are currently focusing upon the Eisen group, and are apparently unaware of the Midway's presence. This carrier group is on an intercept course, and its cruisers are closing rapidly to striking distance with the Eisen. The Midway will launch a strike group to attack the carrier, eliminating the bomber threat. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie wings will deploy to this NAV point. Bravo and Charlie wings will provide cover, eliminating the carrier's turrets and accompanying fighter craft. Your Alpha Wing will then deliver its torpedo payloads on the carrier. When the carrier has been stopped, return to the Midway.

Notes
I hope you like flying bricks. You're going to have a hard time keeping up with enemy fighters, but fortunately you have a few turrets and a nice assortment of missiles. And if you do manage to get an enemy in your sights you can let rip with your Plasma cannon. It even works on capship components... hah, who needs torpedoes?
The fighters will be able to get the better of you with ease if you let them, so pick them off before starting on the carrier.
Outcome
Success and choose Vampire or failure go to Hrissith 2a. Success and choose Devastator go to Hrissith 2b.

Briefing

We will now launch a two-pronged attack against the remainder of the enemy fleet. A wing of Devastators and their accompanying escorts will make a direct assault on the alien cruisers. Meanwhile, your Alpha Wing will clear a path for the Midway through this minefield. You must eliminate at least 75% of the mines and any mine layers you encounter, then return to the Midway.

Notes
Not much to this mission.. just kill the red dots on the radar and try not to fly in to the yellow dots (mines). Then when all of the red dots are gone, shoot down all of the yellow dots.
Remember that your mission isn't done when the autopilot light comes on. You'll fail the mission if you autopilot before you've cleared out the mines.
Outcome
Success / Failure go to Hrissith 3.

Briefing
|
We will now launch a two-pronged attack against the remainder of the enemy fleet. Your Alpha Wing will rendezvous with a wild weasel group from the Eisen. From the rendezvous point, you will proceed to the designated engagement area and launch an attack on the cruisers positioned there. Meanwhile, a wing of Vampires will be deployed in a mine sweeping operation, clearing a path through the minefield for the Midway. When your mission is completed, return to the Midway.

Notes
This is a fairly standard bombing mission. The difference here is you have three power capships as opposed to a few weak ones. Fortunately your plasma cannon can take out capships fairly quickly. You'll be using that cannon a lot on this mission.
It is up to you to decide whether to go straight in and take out the capship or take out the fighters first. Either way the fighters are going to be a problem since your speed and maneuverability are so slow. Fortunately you have plenty of escorts.
Your secondary objective is to eliminate turrets, however unless you're going for a high finishing score, it isn't worth bothering with.
Outcome
Success / Failure go to Hrissith 3.

|
Briefing
|
You will lead a wing of Vampires as part of a patrol in force ahead of the Midway. Due to the asteroid field, our scans of the area are incomplete, but the field should hamper enemy scans, as well. Sweep this NAV route, eliminating any enemy patrol craft and scouting for enemy positions which may be shielded from our scanners by the asteroid field. Should you encounter an enemy starship, do not engage. Gather targeting data and withdraw from the area immediately. Your craft will be equipped with a new missile variant which incorporates alien technology. Although more powerful, these weapons are still untried, and may prove unreliable.

Notes
A nice patrol mission with no hidden surprises.. except for a carrier ambush and a second ship killer hanging out in your path. For the ship killer, all you have to do is fly towards it until Finley calls you back. You can then autopilot on.
The ambush at the Midway consists solely of fighters. Since these can't blow up Midway, you can just worry about yourself.
There are a lot of fighters around, but none of them are a match for your ship. You have a new long range ImRec for this mission, so feel free to try it out if you do get in to a spot of bother.
Outcome
Success / Failure go to Hrissith 4.

Briefing
|
Combined patrol data and engineering reports indicate that a second, fully operational alien ship killer is present in this system. This vessel and its support fleet must be neutralized. Your Alpha Wing will lead the attack, supported by a wing of Vampires with wild weasel loadouts. This attack must be made quickly, before the ship killer's plasma weapon can be brought to bear on the Midway. Your craft has been further modified with new shield technology. Engineering reports that this equipment should prove more stable than the experimental missiles.

Notes
A lot of capships in this one. Fortunately, there are very few fighters, so take them out first then get to work.
Don't worry about the turrets on the capships. Just fly in there and blast the bridge and engines with your plasma cannon. You have enhanced shields in this mission so you can take the turret fire a bit better.
Don't forget that your primary objective is the Kraken ship killer so take that out before the other capships.
Outcome
Success / Failure go to Hrissith 5.

Briefing
|
The Midway is approaching the Kilrah jump point. In response, the aliens have diverted what we believe to be most of their remaining ships to this system. Already a massive strike force has been launched, and will be within striking distance shortly. Their primary target will undoubtedly be the Midway's newly-installed plasma weapon. All wings will be dispatched to pre-arranged positions in an effort to protect the weapon and stop this assault.

Notes
The aliens are going after Midway's nice shiny new (stolen) plasma weapon. You must make sure they don't destroy it. The Stingrays are the ships to worry about, so make sure you break up any clusters quickly.
The new long range ImRecs from a couple of missions ago were nice, but now you have Enhanced long range ImRecs. And it is an objective to try them out. So go ahead and kill some bugs with them.
The Morays can be annoying, but ignore them if you can. The Stingrays are the big threat to the mission.
Outcome
Success go to Hrissith 6. Failure you lose.

Briefing
|
The size of the battle group which has gathered around the Kilrah jump point necessitates that the Midway employ its new weapon. Due to differences in alien and Confed technology, our modified plasma burst will not detonate properly without an initial catalyst. For this reason, a small thermonuclear primer device must be planted at the center of the enemy fleet to assure the weapon's effectiveness. All available craft will deploy to remove any enemy fighters from the Midway's path. Your objective is to plant the primer device on this transport, which is positioned near the heart of the enemy fleet. The device will only lock on this target. When the device is in place, clear the area as quickly as possible to avoid the blast.

Notes
The sight of the alien fleet ahead can be a bit worrying at first. What you have to do is select the bridge of the Triton which will be straight ahead of you as you come out of autopilot. Select the targetting disk as your missile, get a lock on the transport, then fire. When this is done be sure to afterburn as quickly as you can towards the Midway.
The two things to worry about in this mission are the fighters attacking you as you head for the transport and try to gain a lock, and getting back to Midway after firing the disk before the plasma gun fires.
Outcome
Success go to Kilrah 1. Failure you lose.

Mission : Painting the Target
Comments : The fleet arrayed against you can actually be quite fun to destroy once the fighters are cleared. However, it can be hard keeping wingmen from dying.

Mission : hrissith 1a
Comments : Playing with the hi-res patch, the ray objective is always failed regardless of whether you personally destroy it or not. Haven't tried with the unpatched game.

Mission : Painting the Target
Comments : The easiest way I've found is just to kill all the fighters first. Then you can sail in there and paint that sucker.
Otherwise, you'll end up dodging tons of fire and most likely be painting the target while someone else is painting yours.

Mission : Hrissith 5: Plasma Gun Defense
Comments : mission crashed as soon as loaded. Working solution: play simulator mission 7 for few seconds, then try. if not work: Save game from in game in flight computer, go into prophecy folder, delete autosave.gsw, then reload regular savegame from in game.

Mission : Painting the Target
Comments : The fleet is easy to destroy just using the armament your devastator has, however, if you destroy the transport without putting the disk on it, you cannot win the mission.

Comments : On the GBA version, you don't have a targeting disk and I'm having trouble getting past this mission. I've checked on the net for help on this mission and turned up nothing. Please help!

Mission : Painting the Target
Comments : Drop 10 mines near the shielded asteroid, you can destroy ALL of the enemy fleet/fighters and still win the mission.
GBA WC... Good game.

Mission : Hrissith 1a
Comments : Same here , the "Eliminate Ray Fighter" objective never checks completed, even though I apparently blast it to kingdom come personally, and it remains "incomplete" all the way through (doesn't register as failed). Did nobody else
