Wing Commander

Hell's Kitchen 1

Primary Objectives Complete three point patrol
Your Ship Scimitar
Wingman Hunter
Other Friendly Ships None
Briefing You'll fly to Nav 1 to meet a Drayman jumping in from Cheng-du. Bring her straight back here to the Claw. She'll be heavy with passengers, so she'll be moving slow.
4 Salthi
Wave 1
4 Krant
Wave 2
1 Krant
4 Gratha

  • If you get to Hell's Kitchen, there is now no way to win the game, and the winning path missions are a lot easier than these, but if you wish to complete this system, read on. To begin with you face the wing of Salthi which should be easy enough to take out. Now comes the hard bit. At first you face the four Krants and then the lone Krant which is piloted by Khajja. During this time, the Drayman will arrive which will take a lot of fire unless you take out the Krants quickly. Also, you should try not to stray too far otherwise you could run in to the wing of Gratha early which will make life for you and the Drayman much more difficult.

Success / Failure go to Hell's Kitchen 2.

Hell's Kitchen 2

Primary Objectives Destroy wings of fighters
Your Ship Scimitar
Wingman Hunter
Other Friendly Ships None
Briefing They're circling a point here, at Nav 1. It looks like they're waiting for something to jump in. It could be just a tanker or a 'sport but it might be the first of the Kilrathi warships from Planck's.
Mine Field
3 Salthi
Wave 1
4 Gratha
1 Fralthi
Wave 2
2 Gratha

  • Pure dogfighting skill is required here as you need to first take out a wing of Salthi in a mine field before continuing on to take out a capital ship's escort, then the ship itself. Just use your guns on the Salthi and try not to hit any mines in order to keep your ship in good condition for the bigger battle. The Fralthi arrives within a minute of your arrival at Nav 1 and it is unlikely that all Grathas will be destroyed before it arrives so until it is the only thing remaining, give it a wide berth to avoid its fire. When you are ready, adopt the usual strategy of focusing your fire on one side of the ship and expending any remaining missiles.

Success / Failure go to Hell's Kitchen 3.

Hell's Kitchen 3

Primary Objectives Defend Exeter
Your Ship Scimitar
Wingman Hunter
Other Friendly Ships Exeter at Nav 1
Briefing The Exeter is currently at Nav 1. You'll head straight for her, and help in her defense. She's under attack by at least four Dralthi apparently led by the Deathstroke, Dakhath. So I want you to get over to that Exeter as fast as you can. If you're intercepted, simply evade and proceed to Nav 1. You are not to engage any enemy vessels en route, understand?
Mine Field
5 Salthi
4 Dralthi

  • Although in the briefing you are told to avoid enemy encounters before hitting Nav 1 but that is a bit difficult and you don't get in trouble anyway. So attack the Salthi if you want, but if you run away be careful since you'll be in the middle of a minefield. There is no right or wrong method. Once you actually reach Nav 1 you'll see two pairs of Dralthi going for the Exeter so afterburn straight in. As usual you need to take out the enemies quite quickly so let rip with everything you have and pray. Like all missions of this type, an element of luck is required.

Success / Failure go to Hell's Kitchen 4.

Hell's Kitchen 4

Primary Objectives Stay alive, keep the Claw alive
Your Ship Scimitar
Wingman Hunter
Other Friendly Ships None
Briefing The Tiger's Claw is currently here. There's a Kilrathi destroyer -- a Ralari -- near Nav 1, here, and closing. The Tiger's Claw is headed for her jump point here, at Nav 2. There are dozens of enemy fighters in the area. I need someone to head off the Ralari, and detain or destroy her while the Claw prepares for her jump.
2 Gratha
1 Ralari
4 Salthi
5 Dralthi
3 Jalthi
4 Krant

  • What the ship list above doesn't tell you is that along the way you face asteroid fields and minefields although you don't fight in them. Also the wing of Jalthi is lead by Bahktosh. Given what is against you on this mission, there is nothing that I can say here that can help you so all that I will say is good luck.

Success / Failure you lose.

Comments : I always end up here. I have never been able to get to Venice. Why is that? I don't get it.

Mission : Hell's Kitchen Mission
Comments : Although this is the losing end, i think it has a far more intense and intriguing storyline: Confed being thrown back to the shittiest places in the sector, hundreds of thousands of refugees, the cats swarming in from everywhere - That's tough, man.

Mission : All
Comments : Wedge009, to avoid Hell's Kitchen, you have GOT to win the third mission in Kurasawa, Rostov, or Hubble's Star.

Mission : Hell's Kitchen 1
Comments : This mission is literally impossible. Even if you kill all the Kilrathi fighters and escort the Drayman at a slow speed back, it will self-destruct halfway.

Comments : Wedge009: Why am I not surprised? You're just not good enough. I bet everyone else in the whole world who really has tried manages to get to Venice every time they play this game.
