CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: Enter.

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Recon data?

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: No... uh... nothing so interesting. Just a trans to my grandchildren. New school year, they're all excited. Did you want to see me about something, Colonel?

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Yes, sir: the assignment we're undertaking.

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: Yes, we're just about ready to make the extraction. It won't be easy. We'll discuss it at the briefing. Right now, I'm due to check in at the bridge. I'll see you in the briefing room.

outside Eisen's cabin (transition scene) -b4 This transition scene will play any time Blair chooses to go to Eisen's cabin from the Officer's Lounge AND Eisen is available for a conversation:

Blair moves down the corridor and approaches the door to Eisen's cabin. he stops and pushes the call button. from inside he hears:

Eisen (o.s.) Enter.

the door whooshes open and Blair steps inside.


eisen's cabin - eisen -b4 blair finds eisen hunched over a data terminal, his hands moving busily on the keyboard.

blair Recon data?

eisen (not looking up) No, nothing quite so vital. A trans to my grandchildren. New school year, they're all excited.

as blair moves closer, eisen hits a screen-blanker and looks up. there's trouble in his eyes but he tries to hide it.

Eisen You wanted to see me about something, Colonel?

Blair hesitates, unsure of what to think about Eisen's actions.

Blair Yes, sir. The assignment we're undertaking here--

Eisen abruptly stands, discreetly popping a data cartridge out of the terminal and sliding it into his pocket.

Eisen Yes, we're about ready to perform that extraction. It won't be easy. We'll discuss it at the briefing.

eisen heads for the door.

eisen I've got to check in on the bridge right now. I'll see you down in the briefing room.

and with that, he's gone, leaving Blair standing in the room, wondering...
