Just how smart is EA? (Secret Ops question)

No, he won't be in the next WC...

But he didn't really lose anything by not being in SO -- there's absolutely no way anyone will hire him on the basis of having heard what they think is his voice in a free video game <G> We, not he, are the ones who lost in this...

Ya SO would have been neat with his voice in it, but I think the game is ok without it. Someone said that he went thru puberty between WCP and SO! I agree! Even tho its someone elses voice. Still I dont think it would really matter, since the game is fun anyway.

Not to defend him, but accord to the IMDB, he did have two TV credits before WC, he was in one episode of Touched by an angel, playing "Young Chandler" and Grace Under Fire, playing the role of "husband." Who's husband I do not know. Granted neither were big roles. He really hasn't had a lot of success since then. A couple less than memorable movies and the series The Lot on AMC that a number of people dislike with a passion.

Well hopefully for his sake, he dont go off wanting too much for what the project will be. That is the one thing most fairly new actors make a mistake on. They do a few things and then think they become the next huge thing in Hollywood. That is one dog eat dog industry. Even some of the big time actors cant name their own price. But when you put in 20 or so years of acting and building up a reputation and following, obviously you get to a point where if the project just wont be as good without that particular actor, they sometimes give in to the actors price that they want. I think he may have thought he was in that position. So they slamed the door on him.

Another inquery on SO. Thanks LOAF for the link to SOSIMM. Im going thru the SO game again. Im at the Lucos(spelling?) station where you have to save that station. But when you jump into the system escorting the Cerberus, the station gets blown up just as you autopilot to the nav point! (??) I dont recall this happening before the first time I ran thru the game. Then it seems the next few missions after that are total failures even tho you wipe out all targets, escort those ships safely (and all intact) to the Cerberus nav point! Whisky Tango Foxtrot!!?? Did installation of the SOSIMM change something? I read the readme file that it does not change the .tre file so Im a bit confused on that scenario. Anyone else have this happen and what was the fix?

I don't remember a Lucos station, but then again, I've never played WC on a losing path... the only stations I remember in SO are Luyten and Talos stations. Anyone got a mission tree?

Thats it the Luyton station. The first time I played SO I did not get on a loosing path. Going thru it a second time, I completed all missions as before even the second time around up till this particular mission. Now it seems all missions therafter are useless and unwinable. Guess Ill start from the begining again. I just think its weird comparing how it ran the first time and the second time it dont matter what you do, you lose!! Oh well, I will just start from scratch again. I have my previous pilot saved anyway!! :D

Yep, it seems as I got to the point of the luyten station I cant win for loosing!! Weird. Oh well back to the begining!

Isn't Luyten shot at by Sting Rays and four cap ship missiles? Or is it the other station? I just remember flying that mission over and over again... even after shooting down missile after missile.

Oh great. Now who's going to be our central character?

As for Luyten station blowing up, I think it's a prob with the savegame, cos I get it all the time ever since I mucked around with Locke's ammo patch (I was experimenting with getting 100% mission scores). I'll probably have to wipe my save games, but then I won't have the 100% scores anymore. Crazy.

First we have to *get* another WC game. Then you can worry about who the main character is.

I just played through it too and Luyten comes under attack twice, the first time cap ship missiles are launced right away and the second time you can take a couple bombers down before the cap ship missiles start flying. The first time sucked because for some reason when trying to destroy them i would charge them head on and usually slam into one, and if they can take out the station in one hit...:)

Awww... how about going BACK in time... and playing some pre-WC I missions, huh? Or retracing the career of Jason Bondarevsky...

This way we can save the crap of inventing another belligerant alien species, and exploit the Kilrathi War theme everyone likes so much!!!

Well, I can say the same thing for all the WC games: of course we know when we play, that the winning game is the one where the good guys triumph... :D

And also, Bondarevsky's life has not been totally portrayed... I'm sure we can find important segments of his missions that could be played... and this would enable us to circumvent the character problem with Petrarca, or Hamill being too old for young Blair...

We could even bring back Malcolm McDowell... :)

What i meant was we know the Kilrathi lose.:) Though the idea of Bonderevsky missions is intriguing, there isnt really that much we dont know about his time behind the cockpit, unless it were before the Getteysburg mutiny.

I'm not too keen on a 'past' Wing Commander game, but I suppose, if he was given good dialogue, Mr Prinze could do nicely for Bluehair.
