Captured WCIII Cruiser

Hey, I said I want it, not that there IS one :)

I also want a woman who will do everything I say, and who's 4'3'' with a flat head so You can put Your beer on her head while she... You get the point.

Anyway, I'd have liked to Nuke Pliers...

OK... Pliers was just a cover...

I'm after Sosa... The damned pencilpusher (!) chose Troy "I'm a big karate champion and I'll just do a cameo in a video game and steal Blair's girl" Carter over me! I am Blair, destroyer of worlds! Defeated from the start by a snotnosed border worlder with ugly backwards hair... but I'm not bitter ;)

I So want that seventh disc... I mean, blair serves in the Space Force for twenty years and then defects just cause Eisen says "Take my word for it"?
All I remember was being offered an opportunity to fly something better than a Hellcat or a Longbow :D.

There is nothing wrong with the Hellcat! It's the mainstay fighter of the SF, and throughout history the medium, mainstay fighter has been the worst... The Scimm in WC, the Rapier in WC2, and the Hellcat in WC3/4... Did anyone really like the Tigershark or Panther? For a medium fighter, it's just one of many poor ones...

Thay might not like them, but they are the mainstay cause they are cheap!!

How do you like that, your life is now in the hands of the lowest bidder!

Exactly... I mean, the Hellcat isn't so bad after all when You consider the massive scale at which it has to be produced, I'm surprised they have the cash to make it as good as it is!

MY only question. How come no Hellcats in WCP?

And the first site I ever read about WCP back in 1997 claimed that the Tigershark was an offshoot of the Hellcat programme. Any truth in that, or is it another Stiletto/Morningstar conjecture?

The Panther is a great fighter, maybe a bit underpowered with the recharge rates on the guns, but excellent manuverability. The Tigershark is also a good light fighter, good for recon and support roles, but I would not want to dogfight or do escort missions in it. The guns on that thing suck! Put a pair of tachyon guns and dust cannons on it and that might give it a fair shake.

Yaw was always my worst axis (having about a thousand times more experience in flight sims), and so the vectoring does nothing for me in the panther... The Black Panther had by far the best weapons load (short of anything with a dust gun or PPC), the trick is to always let the cloudbursts load, then it isn't underpowered at all, it's very VERY hard-hitting...

I dunno. They do kind of resemble each other......

Yeah, but I mean the Arrow resembles an A-wing as well, You know? I just thought it was funny since it was such an early site, I supposed they'd have some inside info, but I've never seen the suggestion again... Has anyone else heard this?

Yes, I know... But I mean, it's just to say physical resemblance doesn't have to mean anything... I mean the Phantom and Banshee both have these rectangular extensions on the front, does that mean they're related to the Demon in Privateer? or the already discussed stiletto/Morningstar link? All I'm sayng is that I'd rather have some more evidence than a mere physical resemblance, which may or may not indicate a direct link...

To be pciky, they're really a general purpose and space superiority fighters respectively. So the Panther, at least, is not a 'medium' fighter. Besides, it's all about personal preferences.

Well, general purpose, at least in my eyes, entails there's a lot of them... And as for the Panther, I conjectured there'd be a lot more of them than there would be Vampires, so that these two fighters would be made in the greatest numbers... Sorry if I made a classification error.

Oh, well yeah aside from the obvious resemblance, where does this data come from? I don't mean to doubt You, LOAF (God forbid I should ever) But I only read it once and I never saw the lik mentioned again...
