Cool Carrier Catches Compliments czacen is a big fan of the ships from Wing Commander 3, but he was recently inspired to sketch out what the ships of that era might look like if they were created today. Below is a stylized version of a light carrier similiar to the TCS Victory. I think it would fit in well in Wing Commander Arena. This is still a work in progress. Aaron wants to add a bridge or conning tower, but he'd like some feedback in the mean time.
I recently tried to think of what the WC ships of 1990s would look like if the game designers had the freedom that game engines allow today. While most of the ships from WC3 still look aswesome to me, I thought I'd give it a try and redesign the more famous ships in a more 2K generation appeal.

Making the Game: ECTS Keymap This is an update to yesterday's keymap: a later version created for the press who would be playing the game at the ECTS conference. The screenshot included is even more interesting -- colorful in an unexpected way, with a flat style for the instruments that didn't make it to the finished release.
These updates are thanks to John "Captain Johnny" Guentzel, who provided several CD image archives of material used by the Wing Commander Prophecy development team!
Please note that the "Download" link points to an older-style Visio file; these do not open in Microsoft's current Visio viewer. We have converted the VSD into a graphic which can be viewed by clicking on the document thumbnail.
