Ascii Sector Bumped Up To 0.4.6
There's another neat upgrade to Privateer Ascii Sector. If you haven't played in a while, it's worth checking out the current version to see how the game's grown over the last year. Ascii Sector isn't just the most authentic ASCII Wing Commander adventure anymore, it's also now the most elaborate petty thievery simulator. In addition to a ton of bug fixes, Chris Knudsen has added these cool new features.
- Added news feed to the front page of the Quine5000.
- Added random events that change the supply/demand of a commodity on a base or planet for a short number of days.
- Most people now carry a random amount of credits that you can take when you kill or stun them (if anybody sees you taking the credits, you risk getting fined).
- Using a Stunrod or Pepperspray will now increase your Armed Fighting skill (very slowly, though).

New Feedback Forum Available We've had a few questions about ways to submit site feedback and comments, so we're testing out a new Crius.net CIC Forum designed for this purpose. Hopefully the new Feedback Forum makes it easier to discuss ideas or ask questions related to operation of the CIC. This would be one avenue to report problems with the site (in addition to email or IRC), and we definitely welcome suggestions for 2009. We're still tweaking the permissions right now, but currently only the thread starter, administrators and posters with avatars can view/reply to threads. The thought is that the limited privacy might spur more open conversation, but we will continue to evaluate this as time goes on. Visit the Feedback Forum here. [ChrisReid] [# 9184] [Show comments]
