Now You See It...
St3lt3k has found another neat Lego Wing Commander creation on Brickshelf - a Kilrathi Strakha stealth fighter! This is the model seen in Wing Commander III -- the sharp, knife-like production variant rather than the square prototypes seen in Wing Commander II and Academy. The creator of the model seems to be 'Cylon13' -- if you're out there, great work! Now let's see the same thing in all clear bricks...

Momma, You Been On My Zero G Flight
We hear a lot about brilliant game designer/Origin founder Richard Garriott, his financial genius brother Robert and their scientist-astronaut father Owen... but is there a mother Garriott? Wired has the answer (which, naturally, involves zero gravity flight):
Helen Garriott has taken Easter egg hunts where no mom has gone before.
Over the weekend, Ultima Online game creator and son of NASA astronaut Owen Garriott, flew on Zero G's 727 before his 'private spaceflight participant' mission to the International Space Station this fall. This time he took him mom.
Being Easter, she brought along a special pack of Zero Gravity Easter eggs from Willy Wonka... (It seems only fitting to throw an easter egg hunt for the man who has hidden so many easter eggs for Ultima players over the years...)
Richard goes back to Star City, Russia next month to continue his training for his October 12th spaceflight next month. You can follow his mission at www.richardinspace.com. His blogs posts give a great insight into life in Star City and his commitment to using his flight for science and enterprise. (They make me want to get my ham radio license.) Garriott has been training with South Korean spaceflight participant Yi So-yeon, who launches in early April.
The Wonka eggs are designed to take ordinary family easter egg hunts to the next level with suction cups, string and glow in the dark eggs. Released in a zero gravity parabola, however, they really earn their name -- hunters where rewarded with Nerds, Laffy Taffy, and Sweettarts tucked inside.
Given how many other cool things he has come up with to do on the plane, I can't wait to see what he does in space...
