New Bengal Roars To Life Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Update ID

Howard Day has built another very impressive Wing Commander ship. This amazing Bengal class carrier was made with the same care and attention as his Dralthi, Drayman, Salthi and Hornet. The primary inspiration for this version of the classic carrier is the WC1 in-game view with some further detail gathered from the WC1 cutscenes and Academy. The shots below represent only a preliminary release, and Howard continues to tweak the design. You can actually observe increasing detail in each of the pictures below - they're from three different stages, and more work is planned. The ship could see use in WC Pioneer down the line. Either way, we're anxious to see more.
So here's the latest - I got the bottom superstructure to a good point - still have to do the rear turret mounts detailing. I think she's really starting to come together. The side gun pods still are WIP - there's a bunch of details and coloring missing from that area. Totally a work in progress, and I feel the need to point out that this is "a" Bengal class Strike Carrier, not "the" Tiger's Claw. As such the paint scheme is slightly different, and it's only 690M long, not 700M. The are some other structural differences, though this version is far more faithful to the sprites in the game than to the images in Claw Marks.
