Zohrath has over overhauled his modeling website for the first time in a couple years. He has made available a variety of WC3/4 era designs in several popular 3d software formats. Since he's continued to work while the site sat dormant, this particular update is pretty big. New or reworked downloads include the Confed cruiser, Kilrathi dreadnought, Arrow, Vaktoth, Fralthi II, Confed destroyer and Excalibur. Some of Zohrath's ships have been evolving for almost five years, and his skill in manipulating the look and feel of each craft has gotten better and better. Impressive results like these make me excited for the level of detail we can expect in future Wing Commander games. In anticipation of the upcoming Silent Hill movie, MoviesOnline.ca has published A Brief History of Video Game Movies. The article hits the genre's important points, from 1993's Super Mario Brothers through to the recent Blood Rayne. Of course, Wing Commander gets a fairly kind paragraph (the film is a "near-miss")! To clear up any confusion though: the plural of Kilrathi is Kilrathi.
"Wing Commander" : In the 27th century Earth is at war with the feline-like Kilrathi Empire. When the Kilrathis manage to steal the coordinates to Earth, a brave fighter pilot and his squad must find a way to stall the Kilrathi fleet long enough for reinforcements to arrive. I guess Freddy Prinze Jr. and Matthew Lilliard [sic] needed a break from their romantic comedies team-ups so they worked together on this Sci-Fi flick. A near-miss in my opinion. It lacked the budget and dialogue to really make it memorable. I almost completely forgot about this one when I was making this list. But granted it could have been worse.
