New Space Sim First Look: Star Wolves
Star Wolves is a space sim that's quietly been in developement for some time by Xbow Software and 1c Games Company. It's part space sim and part role playing game. Players control a party of up to six pilots in a Privateer-themed sci-fi environment. The story includes conspiracies between the space "Empire" and large corporations that control portions of known space. As the game progresses you acquire wingmen and level up their abilities in combat, so there is less direct control of the ships than you'd find in a traditional Wing Commander game. Certain aspects of the HUD are selected and controlled similarly to Freelancer. The graphics look neat so far and there seem to be a good variety of ships and locations. Star Wolves should be complete towards the middle of 2004. 3dGamers has a 50 megabyte trailer and quite a few additional screenshots.

WC Fan Spoofes The Kilrathi
Spoofe has done a rather sharp pencil sketch of a Kilrathi warrior. He made a cafeful note to describe his creation as depicting the Kilrathi from the games. I'd place it approximately as a Wing Commander 3 era design. He has quite a bit of additional art of various design at his site.
