How ANNOYING did you find the fact...

How about when the Victory continually shifts in her escape from the Ariel system? Or how the Lexington/Intrepid shifts before you've left the hangar in the last Selenos mission?

That's being lazy. :) I try to make in manually, but if it looks like I'm gonna splat myself against the hull I hit auto.

Whats really annoying is when your trying to fly into a Kilrati carrier in WC3 and it keeps moving, slamming you into the ceiling and deck. I always had to auto launch in WC4 cause of my frickin joystick kept jerking me to the side, often into a wall where i bounce into teh floor, then the ceiling, another wall...:)

What I really hate is when I return to the Dauntless, and the automatic landing sequence turns out all wonky because there's a bug in my code... you dinna ken know how annoying that is...

Ehm indeed, but not only is this stupid, it also takes out some realism out of the game...
(why does it say in the Claw Marks that the Claw has X number of flak cannons, when he doesn't use a single one?!!!

I remember watching the end movie for WC1 for the first time (more than ten years ago, wow <shakes head> ) watching the Claw firing her guns, and thinking to myself, "Gee, it would have been nice to see those guns in action during the game.

What the... ??? I never saw any "ending movie" for WC1????

Are you talking about Super Wing Commander???

No... Wing Commander 1 has an ending movie where the Tiger's Claw moves towards Venice, and then the Confed Marines do the Iwo Jima flag raising bit.

Yep, that is annoying. I too do manual landings. I like the ones where you are landing and the carrier is moving and you have to adjust speed to land comfortably, but then that jstick all of a sudden looses its center and off you go!!

RFB

One time, I hit auto to take off in wing 3, after i had tapped the joystick, and my ship startedbouncing around the inside of the carrier, shields flaring, hull armor flying off, then proceeded to fly thruogh the side of the victory, and the was forced to eject pending fighter destruction. THAT, was annoying.

Oh that!!! You call that a movie??? :)
That's barely 20 seconds... :(

I would have expected more...

That's what movies were like back when you had to fit a game on three disks.
:)

Ok, but for the final scene, the end game they could have added three of those short scenes... so that we would get a "decent" one minute ending...

I was reading about the fact that the Confed´s cap ships never fired in WC1. I rebember a escort mission when I saw a Exeter firing...

Hallucination? :)

Did you smoke that day? ;)

mpanty, ít was no hallucination. I will never forget those yellow balls of energy. Just like the ones the Claw was firing in the end of the game. Well, it was the Super Nintendo version...But the fact is: the Exeter fired!

Argh!! I know that in the SNES version lots of things were different, Nebula... :)

But the fact remains that in WC I (PC), no freakin' friendly capital ship ever fired a single shot!!

BTW, LOAF!!!

I read on Black Lance's Navpoint that the actual armor of the Tiger's Claw (in the game, not on Joan's Fighting Spacecraft) is only TWICE as thick as that of a Drayman!!! Is this true?

I could have sworn that the claw did fire... There was one mission I did that was a general scramble, that there were inbound fighters or something, and I thought the claw was defending herself... I know I didn't do that great a job, but then, I was a crappy pilot back then. That was before I got a joystick.

I wouldn't think so. It's so easy to pop a Drayman, but the Tiger's Claw can always take a beating - I've never had it blow up, unless I was attacking it myself. :)
