    CIC Clothing

I'd definitely go for the red T and the baseball cap. I'd prefer the T to read "TCS Midway", but if Eisen it is, that's good enough for me. Maybe a poll'd be in order...

    The Two Towers Poll

I absolutely loved both the LotR movies but I was still just a tad disappointed with TTT. There are just a few scenes that I would have liked to have been more true to the book. Let me just say I have no problem with them changing little details and/or adding things that will add to the...

When and How you heard or saw something about WC for the first time?

Must've been around late '94 / early '95. I was browsing through a mail-order games catalogue and came across WC3. There were a few games I considered buying but in the end I was swayed by the fact Mark Hamill was in it. I think the day I saw a trailer of WC4 on a coverdisk was possibly one of...

Now that the series has been announced what are you HOPING for?

Personally, I would prefer the series to take place aboard the Claw with more or less the original character lineup. I think the end of the movie would be the perfect place to start off and as for all this stuff about continuity... as long as the show is in the spirit of the games I don't mind...

Why did you pick your name?

Griffin: in ancient mythology a symbol of strength, intelligence and vigilance - as well as looking damn cool. [Edited by Griffin on 05-07-2001 at 06:35]

    WCP FOG

I don't think there's any difference between the D3D and Glide flares. I was always disappointed with them in Prophecy since the ones in P2 were way cooler, even though it's an older game.

    WCP FOG

Tell a lie - it's 'Colored Light' and 'Transparency' that you can't turn off in hardware accelerated modes. 'Lens Flare' and 'Fog' are unnavailable in D3D, although IIRC you can get a patch that enables one of them. In Glide 3Dfx, of course, you get them all - that includes your Voodoo3 Mav. :)...

    WCP FOG

The backgrounds are the "textured space" option, which I think is permanently enabled when you play in Glide mode.

    Wing Commander affected our lives

For my money, Wing Commander and certain SF shows (that shall remain nameless so as to avoid an A vs B thread) have universes that strike the perfect balance between ideals and reality. The heroes and villains were REAL heroes and villains. It wasn't as simple as "these are the bad guys...

    Greatest Wing Commander Moments?

Finally finishing Thrakath. When that jump point opens... Damn! Another supercarrier!... wait... YEAH!! "This tribunal is now in session..." The cameras, the flashbacks, the screams from the witness stand... "Justice!" Then finally... well, you know. One seriously haunting sequence...

    Read This!!!

Devil Rays were great. It's a madhouse at the comm station after Blair's abducted and you're confronted with that ace (as well as being swarmed by other fighters) waiting for Bravo to jump in. It's intense trying to kick his ass while you're the sole target for every enemy fighter in the area...

    Blair's TOD

I imagine it's those 10 years flying with the Security forces. Not a lot of opportunity for decoration there I expect. Either someone working on the game was damn clever to have kept his bars shorter to account for that lost combat time or it was just a fortuitous oversight.

    Kilrathi Saga: what is new?

The primary benefit of KS is not added cutscenes (to my knowledge there aren't any) or a tonne of added manual material - it's the actual modification of the games' code to make them native Windows programs with support for DirectX and such. As systems get faster we've seen how difficult it can...

    Kilrathi War.

An oversight Napoleon. I too, take the view that Hobbes was loyal to Confed (and Blair) while Ralgha remained loyal to the Empire. But regardless, the overall feeling toward the cats as a whole in WC3 still felt more bitter and resentful. And it doesn't help that the Hobbes explanation was left...

    Kilrathi War.

No-one's denying that the human race is capable of some downright evil acts, and sure maybe it's a cliche, but we also have the capacity for great good and compassion. We just gotta have faith that in the final analysis there's enough people with the right ideals and the courage to stand up for...

    Kilrathi War.

Weird the way depiction of the Kilrathi changed between games. Somehow all the positive sides of the Kilrathi seen in WC2 (like in Ghorah Khar) were never seen in WC3 (aside perhaps from in Melek). I'm not sure how much time passed between 2 and 3 but I doubt it was long enough for the Empire to...

    Mission Trees Opinion

I chose Speradon the first time round, just for the logic of it - can't fight without weapons after all. Only take it now though when I get really bored of Circe. 'Cos whatever happens, you're never gonna run short of ordnance are you, and I like all the "Thankyou Colonel" messages you get from...

    Let me get this straight...

Well, I don't think anyone disputes that P2 and TD were initially being developed as two different games. Seems like P2 wasn't going great so fair enough, they dub The Darkening P2. OK, so it probably IS a marketing gimick designed to appeal to WC fans but so what? I don't have a problem it...

New Wing Commander Suggestion for Origin

I may be wrong, but it sounded to me like the Prophecy team had some pretty good ideas about what was going to happen in the sequels. There was an extract posted on the CIC in December from an interview with an EA producer who worked on Prophecy and he said the plan was to have the bugs as one...
