The first paragraph should be tweaked to revise the statement that the Akwende drive is the basis of "all" interstellar travel and that without it, ships would be confined to their home system. There *are* other methods of faster-than-light travel that are simply much less viable. The Hopper Drives used by the Pilgrims were what were initially used to explore/colonize the systems around Sol.
