Saffron Burrows - Wing Commander

A DOUBLE THREAT - THE BRITISH ACTRESS IS BREEDING MUTANT SHARKS ON LAND AND FIRING PHASER CANONS IN OUTER SPACE.

It's been hit (MORTAL KOMBAT) and miss (SUPER MARIO BROS.), but video games have been spun-off into feature-length movies. The latest? Wing Commander, an interactive adventure that has spawned four CD sequels. "In the WING COMMANDER movie, I'm Angel Devereaux, the wing commander of a group of fighter pilots," explains Saffron Burrows. "I get to play like an RAF pilot in an RAF cockpit that's been converted into a spaceship of the future." Chris Roberts, who directed the third and fourth installments of the epic game, is also helming the movie. The supporting cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr. (I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER), David Warner (STAR TREK V & VI) and Jurgen Prochnow (DUNE, THE KEEP). "In some ways," continues Burrows, "working on that film and Renny Harlin's DEEP BLUE SEA is similar. There's a feeling in each movie of things being beaten up, lived in. I love that feel. And there's a wonderful, old feel to WING COMMANDER."
