What's your (Call)Sign?

I was kinda saddened to hear that they were going to make the "R" character "Q" in the next Bond film, I know the "R" thing was just a joke, but it really would of been cool, and showed more respect for the original "Q"

Cleese was never intended to replace Q ("R" was a nickname Bond invented), but to be a sidekick. I don't believe that Cleese has been officially cast in the new Bond yet.

IIRC in some of the books, Q is replaced by a female, who Bond calls Qute.

I understand it perfectly. Merlin may have a little distortion to him, but it sounds completely intelligible.

Well, he was completely intelligible to me too once i recallibrated the hearing lobe in my brain! ;)

lol

Cleese has been signed for the next two Bond films, last I heard.

Cleese was briefly in the last Bond film, "The World is Not Enough".

Well, that's just... cute.

Anyway, it's an unfortunate co-incidence that they did introduce R - that way it wouldn't seem so strange to suddenly have Q disappear.

I guess they were planning to retire Q anyway. Desmond Lleweln was looking decidedly old (well, he was 85 in the last Bond). I imagine they will have to find some way to 'retire' him. The 'death of Q in a mysterious explosion' would add a nice personal vengeance touch.

What were the two movies which didn't have Desmond Llewelyn as Q?

Easy. 'Dr No', and 'Live and Let Die'.

You can throw in 'Never Say Never Again' and 'Casino Royale' if you like, but neither of those are 'official' Bond movies.

Llewelyn mentioned in "World is Not Enough" that he was retiring to the life of a casual fisherman. Sad really, once he left the Bond series, it wasn't until a few months later that he got in that car crash.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if the British government actually sent him to the Village from "The Prisoner".

BTW, my dad is nuts over Casino Royale. It's suppose to be one hell of a weird movie. They switched directors a couple of times and the result is just...weird...

Unofficial? That's interesting...

Only saw TWINE in the cinemas once, so I can't remember the quote about retiring.

Thank God you only saw TWINE once. It's stupifying that they go from "Tomorrow Never Dies", the best Bond film since Connery's departure, to that

I'm not telling you what to see. I'm saying I didn't care for the film, which is the rather loud majority in this case.

Please, lets not go here. I'd rather not start a fight that would end up with me as the verbal victor, but the banned poster.

Its quite clear where I got Kn'thrak from. I used to be Cyphex before WC4 and Defeckt was must first callsign I ever used.
I'm sticking with Kn'thrak becase its new to alot of ppl which alot of gamers haven't heard of it

U HAVE JUST BEEN THRAKED!!!!!!
