I think that a version of the Vindicator that is basically like the WC4 Vindicator with a little extra speed would be best. I would like to give it 440/1100 kps, 65/65/65 dps turn rate, 4 IR/4 FF/4 Lt. Torp, 2 Laser/2 Light Tachyon guns, Heavy Stormfire (400 rounds) single bomber turret (WCP/SOP turrets can shoot in any direction it seems) and the same shields/armor as in WC4--250/250 shields and 150/150/150/150 armor. This would make the Vindicator good as a light bomber with better speed and agility than the B-1D Avenger, which would serve in the heavy bomber role.

Its ok with the Weapons,but you cant easily change Y/P/R in a spacecraft....its designed that way.You increased them by 15 degrees !That is too much.......
 
I think the Vind should get more shields and armor, maybe a few extra missiles.

While we're on stats: Why are the Eppe, the Ferret and the Banshee so damm fast?
 
That´s tipical of light fighters. Low defenses and weapons and high speed and maneuverability.

But seriously, I would like to keep the old Vindicator with a bit extra speed. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

That's true. Stormfire? Cool. Lasers and Lg Tachyon? Great. Rear turret? Very useful to take down missiles.

Besides, remember, the Vindicator is the only ship the UBW that can go down to the surface of planets.
 
There's nothing so good that it can't be made better, though. :p If nothing else, I would want more missiles. Alternately, the ability to fit differant kinds of weaponary (rocket pods, torps, missiles) on the big hardpoints like you can with modern aircraft.

That would be consistent with the upgrades on UE. All ships have more missiles. The weaponary is still good, I think. Lasers and lg tachyons were great on WCIV and are still good on UE.
 
UE upgraded old ships.........Vindi is not as old as an Epee or a Scimitar.Banshee has no big differents (except the Heavy Stormfire) than the Original Wc4 one.

I think that the Vindi should stay as it is...
 
I agree. We don't want the Vindicator to be vastly more powerful than the Banshee and Rapier IV--it would mess up game balance. I would like to more or less keep the WC4 Vindicator, upgrading the missiles to 4 HS/4 FF/4 Lt Torp (Hey, the Banshee carries SIXTEEN missiles, so I think the Vindicator can have eight plus torps), and maybe a little extra speed.
 
The Original Banshee carries 8 missles........I dont remember the UE one how many missles it has ,but I dont think it has 16 !!

That makes sixteen missiles on the UE1 Banshee. (Personally, I think the HARM missiles are kind of superfluous, since you only have ONE opportunity to ever use them--on the destroyer in the escort-the-Avenger mission.)

Yeah, I think they are a bit much too. Drop the HARM missiles (mostly useless as I said previously), and reduce the HS from eight to six. That will make twelve missiles, which I think is a better balance.
 
Even 12 are much......Its a Light Fighter.......not a Medium or a Heavy one.I know that the new Generation of Fighters (Prophecy era) have lots of missles etc,but these are from a different age....
 
True, it doesn't really seem to fit in perfectly but missles are pretty essential to dogfighting after you've used up all of the heavy stormfire. Killing mantas with 4 lasers is not fun

WCP missiles are smaller that WC3/4
 
Smaller yes,but I dont think that older Fighters like Banshee are designed to carry such missles....Even if they do,the new missles are not sooooo smaller than the old ones.Also the HardPoints are the same.No matter the size of the missle....
