Landreich?

Oh I see, Does any one have a copy of Fleet Action handy? I guess the Concordia's final fight is in there. At least I think so. Personaly if she had to go I would of wanted her to go swinging geting that last PTC shot in.

("To the Gates of Stovah' Kor!!!")

The Concordia survives Fleet Action. She's destroyed between Wing Commander Armada and Wing Commander III -- the actual battle is never seen.

The Concordia's final moments are touched on briefly in the WCIII novel. She goes down after FA, in the Mistral Sea on Vespus.

I would love to seen the Concordia going off in a blaze of glory if it ever had to be taken down.
If they were to take down the Pride of the Confederation, the Confederation Flagship would take a few of those bastards with em

Any who back to the subject the Landriech. I know they captured a Kilrathi Carrier and Crippled a Dreadnaught in False Colors. Also they still used some of the old fighters like the Raptors and RapierG's.

surprising I remember that they still used those old fighters up to the end of the black lance crisis. I think that they finally scrapped the rapiers when they got newer and better fighters that out performed them not matter how old they were

In False Colors (2670-2672) they're flying Rapier IIs, Hornets and Raptors. We don't see the Landreich again, other than a brief mention in the Wing Commander IV novelization where they help repair the Intrepid at Orleans.

They would still be around would they? It would be almost impossible not to hear from them again some time later in the future...

"I used to be on THE TCS Concordia! THE CONCORDIA! This thing is a joke!" when I was younger. Don't get me wrong, there's a special place in my heart for those little under-dogs called Victory and Intrepid.

How much do you want to bet thats exactly what Blair was thinking too? God knows I was... that sucked though... the Concordia is the only real battlewagon you fly off of in WC, its a freaken DREADNOUGHT! Not a carrier, A DREADNOUGHT!!! Btw... what is the official report on how the Concordia was destroyed, and why does Blair say its his fault at the begining of WC3?

P.S. I had no idea that Concordia had THIS MUCH LOVE!!! :D

When I eventually get around to that whole part of life that involves raising a family, My first daughter shall be named Connie and my second son shall be Lex ;)

I think that the Concordia was a ship that kicked ass and had a certain awe which inspire everyone. It was the flagship of the Confederation and it does bring a certain amount of pride when you fly off the flagship. So it would be normal to have people to show some loving to their flagship.

I actually never really liked the Concordia... it felt so cold and unpleasant compared to the Tiger's Claw (which, I would argue, was the intention of those responsible for Wing Commander 2).

WC3- A rusty musty old Ranger Class light carrier... that for some reason has a larger escort then the Concordia ever did...

The Concordia was a dreadnought and the Tiger's Claw was a strike carrier. I'm not too sure what the main role of the ranger is, but I suspect it simply didn't have the onboard fire power and arsenal that the other two carriers had.
The Concordia seemed a bit like a battleship in some stages.

Isnt that mostly because of everyones attitude toward Blair at that point though? I mean you can't blame the ship for that! Either way, she was always my favorite, she was the first I flew off of, and YES i shed a tear when I saw her at the begining of WC3, I am not ashamed to admit it! But I was a little more then pissed when I saw the scrap heap I got assigned to next... BLAH!!! No thank you! A lousy carrier that should have had the Concordia's duty during her last days!

So what would the correct canon details be about Concordia's destruction anyway? It sounds like so far that Fleet Tactics offered the closest thing to explaining it, unless I missed something in my WC literature...

I think it had more to do with the utilitarian nature of the gameflow screens -- the Concordia was just a blue version of the space station.

Except Fleet Tactics made its story up -- it's not quoting some resource, it's fan fiction. The WC3 novel says that the Concordia was lost during "a rearguard action over Vespus".

Did anyone else think the way the Concordia landed (as shown in the WC3 intro) was a little weird? Yeah, maybe it could have skidded for a long time on just momentum, but the way it just stops bow up bothers me.

By the way, this thread is geeky fanboy central.

Huh. Never thought of it that way.

Space Shuttles do it for part of their trip back I believe to. When they do a de-orbit burn I think it's called. They face opposite to their orbit and increase speed in one direction to decrease their speed in the other direction and pretty much start to fall backwards.
