Yeah but the Lex wasn't at Pearl. She along with the rest of our Carrier fleet was out on patrol with the exception of the USS Enterprise which was enroute to Pearl. As for people breaking down, that one is easy. I would imagine it would be tough watching your ship go down. Not to mention the thoughts that your buddies may not have gotten off. Last nitpicky thing. The Lexington was scuttled by her destroyer screen.
