Hey, It's Favoire CrapFighter(tm) time!

Is this similar to the gun thingies under the Vampires and Panthers' noses?

What exactly would this shield sucking thing have done?

And Remoras are even more cannon fodder than Lampreys... just don't make all of them pop out at once, especially on escort missions...

Have any of you ever come across a WC fighter that you would judge as TOO maneuverable for its own good?

Never really thought of any as too maneuverable, but it always took me a few minutes to readjust to a Vampire after flying a mission in a Devastator.

These should have been anti-missile systems, they're even mentioned in the WCP guide. That would have been very nice.

The crappiest fighter in the game series would have to be those Nephilim Lamprey's. How pathetic are THOSE things? I usually just fly straight in, guns blazing... :D Easiest things to kill, and I'd think they'd be nearly impossible to survive piloting.

They are really ugly too! Those bugs should be ashamed when they compare the Wasp with their tiny little coffin-interceptor.

Have you noticed how often those things BUMP on you? I think that´s their best attack :D.

They have the worst gun in the game also, that one that looks like a water spray.

They're no interceptors, the Squid is the Nephilim's interceptor.
Nevertheless, it's true the Lamprey is really really weak.
But I found its gun effect not bad: Having a near black "bullet" with just a bit of blue in space was cool IMO.

I think that the Lamprey is buged or not finish, his gun serves to disable shields, but i don´t remember that thing worked well against the TCS MIdway or the TCS Cerberus

That is so true. The first few enemy fighters I'd come up against, I'd be over shooting my target. I also sometimes have problems with the Shrike because it tends to drift. I try to stop my turn but it doesn't stop turning as quickly as other fighters and I drift past my intended target.

The worst fighter I think is the Hornet. With onlt two lasers and three missiles, it's not good for mixing it up with overwhelming numbers of enemies. Give me anything but a Hornet and I'll take on any number of kats.:D

one of my fav. fighters has to be the Piranna.
somewhat of a new-age arrow, yet, no auto-slide.
it also just looked cool. and the canopy was HUGE. and u only fly it once in the game IIRC, but there is always the virtual thumb zone.

Favorite fighter

Well, actually my favorite fighter would have to be the arrow. It is quick and nimble. I really like being able to get out of tight binds really easy. I just hate being stuck up against a corvette or something when I am in an Arrow that just sucks. But in general it is certainly my favorite fightercraft.

no i don't, but i doubt it. unless it's one of those lifting body configurations, but my guess is still no.

Yea, I don't think it would be very atmosphere friendly. It looks like it would drop like a rock... but then again the Hellcat did too... hmmm its a good question to ask the Techies.:D

Scimitars?! , have't hear of them for a long time, Old ship, bad one too

those stupid scims! they are everywhere! I mean, they're so old they had them before the war, so just imagine with all the costs how much they built! they're cheap, half effective, slow, sluggish. meaning they wont cost much for maintenance and they'll do the job, hopefully. thats why we say theres too many damn scimitars in this world

hehehe

Don't let Supdon fool you. The Scimm's a gun-heavy slug. Forget finesse...just head straight in, guns blaring. Give me a ship that takes skill... A Raptor, even a Hornet...or one of those new Rapiers... If half of what they say is true, the Rapier's a true artist's ship!

The only good thing of the Scim. was the 2 mass cannon, she is slow and has not much maneuverability

Yeah that was a nice add, i liked the ship, until i went on a raptor, scim just looks ugly...

Why? 'Cause their cost effective?

Cost-effectiveness is supposedly the same argument for the existence of Hellcats and corvettes.

Oh, no, I absolutely hate the Scrimitar. Slow, heavy gun slug...

I liked it a bit after flying a Hornet, especially when I saw those Dralthi explode after I emptied the gun capacitors...but then I started trying to manuver. Ugh...

Speaking of phasing the Scim out, anyone else remember in SM2? (Maybe 1, it's been a while) where Halcyon announced that the Scim was offically being retired. There was cheering for a very good reason. Personally, I'll take a Hornet over a Scim anyday. Try taking the losing track all the way to Chengdu, you'll face a few Gratha there, beat it, and you'll wind up in Brimstone. Just tell me which is easier: fighting Gratha in Hornets with Angel, or fighting them in Scims with Maniac?
