New Detroit is a star system in the Potter Quadrant of the Gemini Sector featuring the planet New Detroit.

In 2669, privateer Grayson Burrows, acting on a tip given to him in one of many of Gemini's pilot's bars, met a fixer on New Detroit named Sandoval. Sandoval offered Burrows 5,000 credits to run a legitimate shipment of Iron to the Liverpool refinery in the Newcastle system. As forward payment and collateral, Sandoval also offered Burrows an alien artifact, which started a sequence of events that led to Burrows' acquisition of his Steltek Gun.
