Ah, that thing. Yes the Kilrathi corvete could hold a few fighters, just like the Bonie Heather and later the captured Kilrathi transport piloted by Paladin, could have fighters dock with them.

And don't forget that the Kilrathi corvete probably isn't the same class as the WC3 corvete.

Actualy though it does look similar, it isn't as "tall" as the WC3 corvete. And there are some other differences.

The shape is basically the same but has been altered, resulting in a sleeker look.

So the fighters must dock externally.

I wish I could get the stormfires to work but I can't. None of the alterations take effect.

I did do that

None of the changes I make take effect.

Maybe I'm not allowed to make the game harder for myself

Now my SO doesn't work when I escort the Cerberus to Cygnus from Talos.

Okay, I've read Death Head's earlier post a few times and I'm assuming that he is trying to put SF's on the Corvette (if I'm wrong, I'm wrong
smile.gif
). They won't work because the Corvette acts as a Cap Ship (even though it seems more like a fighter) and it will not fire any forward weapons only the turrets unless you are actually flying it (WCPEdit ship-swapper).
As for swapping Cap Ships with other Cap Ships (Earthworm), this (for me anyway) usually crashes the game if they are moving from NAV Point to NAV Point. As an example (when I was bored) I swapped the 3 Pelicans in one of the SO missions with 3 Midways...as soon as I hit autopilot the game crashed. I'm pretty sure this is mentioned somewhere in the doc's.

Never happened to me, though I usualy only swap the Cerberus with the Midway. As for the game crashing, you can't swap the capships with Corvetes, or converted capships (Behemoth, Victory) because they act like fighters and that won't work. Also, swaping capships with the SO Vesuvius/Plunkett/Murphy is somewhat problematic (at least for me).

I see the colors, yeah that's nice.

I was hoping to find stormfire turret, maybe that might work.

Why does the charging plasma not work on components?

I tried using the Tachyon turret, that is pretty cool.

Before I try it will switching fighters like and Excalibur with another fighter work, and can I switch converted capships with Cerberus without problems?

Like I said earlier, you can't swap converted capships with the standard Prophecy capships, because those converted ships are technicly oversized fighters in the Prophecy engine.

Also, there are many different fighters from ealier WC games you can download here at the CIC.

You can't fly the Midway, because you can't swap fighters (including corvetes, and converted capships) with capships.

Yes, you can swap the Midway with other capships, but than after about 40 seconds you'll get a message that the hangar has been destroyed because the alien ships don't have the hangars and launch tubes like the Midway does. They only have a launch bay.

I remember putting Stormfires on the turrets of the Midway once. After increasing the range to about 10,000 they were pretty effective at killing bug bombers
biggrin.gif

The best one though is replacing all the turrets with those bug shield killers (which should really be renamed Torp killers)...not a single bug torpedo hit the Midway...cool!!

That's why I found out the TRUE nature of the Lamprey-missile/torpedo inderdictor, which it does exceedingly well with its speed and turn rate, as well as being a pain to all bombers by appliing persistent bang bang banging agaist my tail.

Put a pair of lamprey cannons on the wasp you'll actually have fun shooting down those damned capship missiles and torpedoes. Think of it as sending high speed eploding nets out after those incommings.

How did you change the turrets on midway to stormfires, exactly?? if you can do that then it might be possible to put working stormfires on the corvette.

BTW, Kalkrath, if you have a turreted plasma on a bomber I think you will eventually piss off your wingmen and you will look like a traitor.

I just swapped them with WCPEdit. You cannot add ammo, but that doesn't matter with turrets, they will fire anyway. It should work with the turrets on the Kat Corvette.
If they still aren't firing, try changing the Stormfire settings so that they don't need ammo (the little tick box)

Another fun thing is having the Stormfire require a little energy as well as ammo. The gun acts as if it is heating up (slowing it's refire rate the more shots you fire!)

Stormfires are cool

No I don't want to be shot down in one shot.

So you simply put the stormfire in the locations where the laser turret was and it works?

No, I didn't make the stormfire use energy but I could, instead I increased the rate of fire while maintaining the amount of ammo on each ship. The current rate on mine is 50 ms!

Also try using the unknown 1 which by default uses ammo, and it looks like a laser, even is identified as a laser as a bug gun would.
