<B>LEV ARRIS</B>: I want to know where that pod was before it was put onboard the Canera when I was put in it.

<B>JAN MITORR</B>: Why are you asking me these things? I'm not supposed to know them, I'm supposed to have forgotten them.

<B>LEV ARRIS</B>: Well remember those things.

<B>JAN MITORR</B>: No! Kappa Labs, Kappa, Kappa damn you. Now go, leave us alone.

<B>LEV ARRIS</B>: Give me the coordinates.

<B>JAN MITORR</B>: But you know! It's out in the Scatterbelt. Listen, it was all so long ago. But it was allright, the pod worked. Just... just tell me what you want.

<B>LEV ARRIS</B>: Who put me in the pod?

<B>JAN MITORR</B>: Go to Kappa Labs, you'll see. If I open my mouth you know what they'll do. You know better than most and... my heart, and my heart, I can't breathe. I'm dying. Your father he would... he said...

== 25th Anniversary ==

On May 20, 2020, Privateer 2: The Darkening director [[Steve Hilliker]] released [[The Darkening 25th Anniversary Restoration]] which featured footage restored from Betacam tapes. The footage has been edited down into a cinema cut but where available it is of much higher quality than the game's files.

He looks at the annunciator for a moment, annoyed. Starts to <br>
turn and walk away -- then turns again and BLASTS the door <br>
in. It slams open: he goes in.


<B><U>SC.154 INT. MITORR'S HOUSE</B></U>

Tasteful and posh in a futuristic way. Standing there, <br>
staring at Arris, is JAN MITORR. He is a little, frail old<br>
man who looks like he's seeing someone he really did NOT <br>
expect to see. He backs away.

:::     Oh, holy gods! <U>You --</U> Get out!


<B><U>SC.155         WIDE -- THE TWO OF THEM</B></U>

Arris is confused by this look of terror, but still angry.

:::     Ser Mitorr -- my name is Lev
:::     Arris. I'm here about a pod.

:::     But...another age! Another time and place 
:::     altogether! Begone! We beseech you, begone!

Arris advances on him. Mitorr starts to back away.

Almost nose to nose, now.

:::Who<U> put me in that pod?</U>

Mitorr shakes his head, trembling with fear.

:::::MITORR
:::    Go to Kappa Labs. You'll see. 
:::    But if I open my mouth -- you 
:::    know what <U>they'll</U> do! You know 
:::    better than most!


<B><U>SC.160      WIDER</B></U>

Mitorr collapses into a chair, as if his legs just won't <br>
support him any more. Arris comes closer, baffled and <br>
angered.

:::::MITORR (CONT'D)
:::Oh. My heart. Can't breath...can't...

He clutches his chest, sags sideways, struggling for breath.


<B><U>SC.161      CLOSER</B></U>

Mitorr's color has gone awful -- a dreadful purplish shade. <br>
He sags further in his chair, as Arris leans in toward him.

:::::MITORR
:::    Your father...he would have...he 
:::    said...

:::::ARRIS
:::: (suddenly panicking)
:::My father? What about my father?


<B><U>SC.152  ON ARRIS AND MITORR</B></U>

Arris grabs the old man by the shoulders, shakes him. It's <br>
too late.

:::::ARRIS (CONT'D)
:::<U>What about my father??</U>

But Mitorr only slumps sideways: the heart attack has killed <br>
him.


<B><U>SC.163  ON ARRIS</B></U>

As he stands up, looking down at the corpse with an awful<br>
expression of frustration and pity -- then walks OUT OF SHOT <br>
and EXITS.
