WC4 ... Seventh Disc ???

Acording to that, not only you destroy the Interpid but also steal that ship name (The Lexington becames the TCS Interpid).
I try to stick with ConFed but it would take a lot of Cash and time to make a ConFed winning side.

The 8th Disk

Someone on AGWC posted about an 8th Disk to WCIV where you were posted to the Vesuvius and became the Wing Comander of the Vesuvius. Now that would be different.

I have that post somewhere in my growing WCIV collection.
I must dig that out again.

Loaf, I'm not crazy and I'm not pulling your leg. The first copy I bought of WC4 had 7 CD's with it. I swear to got it had 7 CD's. Tell you what though. A guy I used to swap games with in school and he had the same number of cd's. I'll try to hunt him down and see if he had the same version since his had 7 CD's too. Maybe then you might not think I'm crazy. But dude I'm not lying.

I think you're remembering the fact that there were seven disc *slots* in the WC4 packaging. Memory plays strange tricks sometimes. And if there was a seventh disk, don't you think one of the diehard Wingnuts who collect every WC item there is would have tracked it down by now?

Best, Raptor

I found disc 8 in the archive of my posts on AGWC... at some point I replied to it... I don't know who it was though, since for some reason there aren't attributions at the top.

---------------------------

With the amount of branches this wouldn't be a disc 8... this would be a disc 8-15.

That's quite an imagination, TC!! I'm impressed! :)

Pretty good work!! Why don't you work for Origin? :D

Man thats some pretty extensive forgery/making this stuff up. Did someone take the time to write all that or were they trying to fool someone?

That one was just a joke mentioned somewhat earlier in the thread. The 7th disc is the real legend.

Considering, there were 7 CD holders, could it be possible that they actually did print on the old CDs? The ones which held a little less data?

And that 8th CD idea is crazy... another reason why I don't like fanfic.

No, Wing Commander IV was never printed on seven CDs. Making a special '7-CD-for-one-crazy-guy' version of Wing Commander IV would be a large waste of CD-mastering money on the part of Electronic Arts...

Well, I was just thinking that it was possible for the first run... but then they'd be a lot more of them, wouldn't there? <D'oh!>

Anyone who still cringes at the mention of December 8th knows very, very well what's in a WCIV box. :)

And I'm one of those people!
