WC ground forces

Yeah, since they don't tend to cause as many hull breaches :) But there have been times that energy weapons have been used, so I wasn't sure in that case. I remember the humans switching to magnetic bullet firing guns, but I didn't know about the Kats. I'll assume from your answer they were using bullets

yes, if one were to use jacketed, high velocity rounds.

[edit: I believe that's from AS, where they were going into what was basically an unarmoured cargo container. A real hull would be stronger.]

Yeah, they'd probably be using hollow-point rounds, like they do today in most cases. Then again, the military was banned from using those. As for the magnetic bullets, we have those right now. I read about it in Scientific American last summer. It fires bullets so fast that it's practically a solid beam of lead. Wow.

Back to orginal subject, the marines.

Human without powered heavy combat armour wouldn´t
have a change when fighting aganst kilrathi. Wasn´t
it that normal kilrathi weight was 120kg and was 2.2m
tall?? Such monster could take quite a many hits
from assault rifle before going down. Also in WC1
in McAuliffe resarch base we see kilrathi marines in
similar combat suits. So i think that human marines
have hard time to kill kilrathi marines beacuse their
ability to take several hits wich could kill human.
Is there anywhere refreces about kilrathi marines
fighting tactics? I think their characteristics
would suggest that they try to sneak close and
then launch an assault to get close combat.

well im sure that the Kilrathi prefer close combat, just becuase of their killer instincts, and a predication to using their claws. I do think that a well aimed shot could take a Kilrathi down in one shot like anything. Confed has had lots of time to perfect its killing methods. And its protection methods. Armor that could withstand claw swipes and the same such.

Our marines definately don't wear heavy combat armor -- they wear pressure suits and such on occasion, but nothing more than the light armor Dekkar wears in WC4... and usually not more than that.

(Heck, if you're going to bring up the Kilrathi marines in WCI, why not mention the *Confed* Marines in WC1?)

Or the resourceful scientists on McAuliffe who captured the Kilrathi...

Yeah, Marines in Brimstone and in Rostov. Hahah Mopoks (more apes!!!) made the Killies piss!

Why is it that the Marines in WC1 remind me of British soldiers. Maybe theres a 'second coming' of the British Empire and its influence has once spread again in an empire where the sun never sets...

After all, Cricket is still around! :) GO AUSTRALIA!

The WCM hats are more German, a throw-back to Germany Navy
Headwear during WWII. Watch Dos Boat to see.
