Speaking of German names, I was wondering... there's a "TCS Dornier" in the Wing Commander IV novel. The only connection I can make is to aircraft from World War II (Dornier Do-17 and such)... is there some other meaning behind the name?
 
None I know of. I only know the aircraft building company as well.

Apart from that company the name Dornier does have no meaning to me, no. That company is still building aircraft and there's also a EADS company called Dornier-Satellites. I think those will be involved in the European Satellite Navigation System, which shall replace the US GPS system in Europe.

That's about all I know about that name.

Correct. The first mission Blair flies with Doomsday while on the Concordia was a strike against a Kilrathi Supply Depot. They jumped out, then rendevoused with the Valdez. They also refueled just before the return jump to the Concordia.

As for a name for a name for the so-called Bengal Mk2, how about TCS Raven?

Why should we name a capital ship after a fighter? We could name a fighter after a fighter. But, for capships, I think we should mostly stick with other capships, battles, places, etc.

TCS Trafalgar, after the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) (Also the namesake of WC3's TCS Victory -- after Admiral Nelson's flagship, the HMS Victory). There was, indeed, a second TCS Trafalgar... a heavy attack carrier which served up until her destruction at Vukar Tag in 2667.
