Star Trek Simulation

According to the article in TV Guide the new series happens after the visit in First Contact and long before the original series. There isn't a Federation Starfleet yet, but the Earth's people unite and with help from the Vulcans build a starship and call it the "Enterprise". This is before there is a Confederation Class, Galaxy Class or hell any class. Also much of the technology from the original series is brand new and some of the fun of this new series will be the crew testing it, breaking it and stuff.

Unfortunatly for me I live in a region of the us that doesn't get UPN unless I have a satallite dish. So I will have to get my wife's annoying cousin to tape it for me. Therefore I have to be nice to the guy...ain't life a bitch.

Wow, you got mixed up with your universes. There was no "Confederation Class" in Star Trek. I assume you mean the Constitution Class.

You are right in your comments though, except for that the Enterprise, from what I understand, is almost completely human built. The Vulcans think we aren't ready to go warp 5 yet. T'Pol is there to make sure we don't screw up too badly.

There IS a Starfleet, just not the one we're used to.

I hope we don't get in trouble for talking Trek on the WC board...but the topic was already made...I was just adding...

I read an interview with her in a magazine where shwe stated that it was the only reason for her to be chosen.

Apparently it worked :)

James Doohan (Scotty) was Canadian, in fact, and also served in the Royal Canadian Artillery. They Trek people just asked him to do different accents and liked his Scottish one. And as for Spock being the first Vulcan in Starfleet, I'm not exactly sure Enterprise is even in Starfleet, I don't even think there was a Federation yet. Either that or the Vulcan chick was assigned there as an exchange from the Vulcan space service or something.

Í mean his carachter, and i´m complaining about the nationality of the characters not the actors.

Seven of Nine didn't do anything for me. She was poster art for ST, how low is that? Give me Dana Scully or Robin Lefler any day of the week! :D

There should be a Confederation Class in Star Trek. And there should be fighter battles, dammit! I'm getting tired of all this capship fighting! :(

Never get tired of capship battles. But if you want ST fighter battles go play ST:Invasion. Great game.

I'm tired of ST Capship battles. The only time it was really damned cool was on Original Trek and DS9. Some eps of TNG too.

Hmm...I don't think they should do fighters in Trek, or if they do keep 'em sorta in the background like the did with DS9. I actually think cap ship battles are alot more intresting, because instead of one person worrying about his own butt in alittle fighter, there's the entire crew worrying about everyone's butts in a big, complex starship.

I'd actually like to see more cap ship battles in WC. One of my fondest memories in WC3 is when your escorting the Victorys escorts through Kilrathi space and they engage the Kilrathi cap ships.

Don't get me wrong, fighters are cool. I think in WC they're alittle over-done though. Star Wars had a pretty good balance of cap ship to fighter battling.

I saw specs for a Wasp interceptor with Trek tech...sadly, I'm too lazy to go dig it up right now.

I think capship battles are better than fighter battles just because there are these huge ships slugging it out together! but the one thing better than fighter battles or capship battles is capships going up against even BIGGER capships making them look as small as fighters in comparison!!! .... i love the scene in First Contact with all the federation ships (looking so small) taking on that massive borg cube.... awesome battle!

My favorite ST capship battle was in Sacrifice of Angels on DS9. It had a fleet of 500 Federation ships take on a Fleet of 1000 Dominion and Cardassian ships. Things are getting dicey and then halfway through the battle the Klingon fleet showed up. YEE HAW! that was awesome.

I must agree with, along with the Wrath Of Khan the best CapShip Battle !

From hell's heart I stab at thee!

The Reliant got its arse kicked and rightly so! I wouldn't mind seeing more fighters in ST, but there is too much of a reliance in WC on fighters. I don't think capships should be able to go up so fast!

Also for TOS Klingons, I have an explanation. Low budget makeup!
