Greeting to everyone!

I've been playing Wing Commander since my old 486/25 (and let me tell you the challenge it took to make that thing run WCIII!)

A few questions I have, since for some reason I am just now discovering this website.... Mainly because I've been off in Star Trek land.... and by the way Wing Commander Invasion looks awesome so far!

The Kilrathi Saga:
I have already assumed (from looking in stores and from reading posts here) that Kilrathi Saga was a limited addition thing. Being the case anyway, I want it. Does anyone know where to get it?

The Next Wing Commander Game:
I've heard Origin has no plans at this time... Does anyone know why? Lord knows there is enough of us with ideas!

The Next Wing Commander Movie:
I haven't heard anything about this yet. If it was anything like the first I don't care to see it. The plots were FAR better in the games. Is anything being planned?

Yes, Invasion does look great. I cant wait!

The Kilrathi saga wasnt limited in anyway, just at the time almost no one bought it. If your willing to pay a few hundred bucks you can get it on eBay.

There are no plans for a new WC game because at this time, they dont think it will sell all that well. All the other space sim games (Freespace 2, Starlancer, Tachyon: The Fringe) bombed in sales so they are waiting for a more opportune time. Apparently it in NOT because Origin is focusing on Ultima Onine.

I seriously doubt they would even consider making another movie. The first one was in no way successful enough to warrant a sequel, though there are many of us here who do enjoy it (and there are those that hate it too).

And redwolf is right. If you've been here before...you've maybe seen the threads about the questions you've asked. If not just look around and if you see older threads you will find more detailed discussions about these themes.
 
As for new WC games, while Origin may not be making any, there are quite a number of mods out for other games, like my WC Freespace2 mod. I am involved in a new WC game being made by Hellcatv and Myself, It's a Privateer style game with the entire WC Universe map as well as All the WC1,2,3, & privateer ships in it, so if you enjoyed Privateer, and the WC series you'll love Wing Commander Universe. more info onthis project can be found here: http://www.angelfire.com/WingCommanderUnivers/main.htm
 
Glad too see this place is growing as ever.
It's funny though, I always felt like I was the only one who couldn't get enough of the movie, I just loved that thing!

I never knew Origin was waiting for things to calm down. You, this might just be the 'silence before the storm' Imagine how much of a hype this would make if Origin would announce another wing commander? these boards would overflow! I bet the CIC would have to pay a pretty penny to keep up with the bandwith :D

speaking of origin, if LOAF reads this, does the CIC have any relations with origin? if so, what is it?

However, don't EA fund this board KV? Its just the impression that I've gotten from past threads.

Just like one of my mate's mates at uni. He's doing a doctorate and two other people are in his course. They USED to get unlimited downloads, until they clocked up a $26000 bill. Good research. Lots of wares and between five and seven cd's of porn a day. Keeheehee!
 
Doesn't work like that 'out in the sticks' as you people would say. Australian universities are a bit different. These were all downloaded from labs.

Yes it does. Just wait for some of the stuff we have planned to add in. The single player campaign should be nice too if we can get a mission editor up and running. I wrote the story/missions and it's sort of a continuation of WCPSO...but with some elements from past games and even the novels.

We also might be adding some things from the movie like the Thrak'hra ConCom, Rapiers, and maybe if we can procure a good model the Concordia-Class Supercruiser.
 
Hey, I love the WC Movie too! It realize, as far as film goes, pretty bad, but it's a definitely guilty pleasure to me! I defend it from those foolish enough to overly critisize it.

Yeah, me too. Despite all the plot controversities and mistakes and many other things you have to argue about it is a nice movie. It's wing commander, and there are many scenes you like to watch several times. Altough what IMHO really sucks is the design of the Kilrathi. They got really bad...

But seriously, I do have some weaknesses for bad movies and when I do, it's usually based around it's villian... Transformers: The Movie is one and Masters of the Universe is the BIG one.
