Could WC1 be made better?

to be honest getting them isnt to much of a problem i just can get them to run ive tried everything i even dug out my old amiga to play wc1 but it blew up on me :mad:
 
Sweet!!! HCL has gotten PG to run in dosbox? Awesome! I...unfortunately, don't have PG but I do have Armada so if they can get that working....I'll be looking forward to some online action! :)

This would be amazing if you guys can get PG to run over the net. CIC could start up it's own killboard...could see who is the best of the best....haha
 
Great, really great.

Mario, fixing the joystick in WCArmada would be really great, considering it is what stops me from playing it.

PG is free, so everyone can dl it, so this issue is take care of :)

Not really, unfortunatelly, discounts are not very common.

Back in topic: Yep, the joystick problems in WCarmada are so serious that i had to reboot the machine in order to the stick to work again :p

Help us, obi wan HCl, you are our last hope!
 
Ed: I've uploaded to my site a patch for those Armada joystick issues on DosBox. I was able to test it yesterday night with ChrisReid and it appears to work well. Give it a try, it should fix both Armada and Proving Grounds :)
 
With Chris' assistance I got my copy up and running. Unfortunately nobody was on to test out a quick game but it looks like its running fine. HCL, you are the man!!! :)
 
This is definitely something to watch. I guess you're continuing your testing a bit before you release the necessary patches and manual so that everybody can get together and play.
Take your time. I'll get some practice with Allegiance first.

I think I still have my old gravis joystick collecting dust somewhere. 4 buttons and a throttle slider, on a serial cable. Would that work in dosbox?

I've been playing wc2 in dosbox with my old gravis 2 (3 but two of them are the same) buttion joystick (no throttle)

My logitech wingman extreme has been hoarded (an trashed) by my brother so I may eventually upgrade that aspect of my otherwise good PC setup. That was a wonderfull stick for wc4 and prophecy. It even had a preconfigued template for wc4. Throttle on the side. Buttons to swith targets and weapons. Fire missiles, switch views. You could also customize the layout though. I'm sure all the new joysticks do this stuff but, im talking about nostalgia here.... great times!
 
Hey, I've tested the ARMADADB patch on Armada CD and it works like a charm. 4 enemy carriers are gone, thanks to you... :)

I got my ass handed back to me by the shoklar though. Best kat cloack fighter in any game. the mighty wraith was no match to it. but space combat in WCA against the AI is kinda boring, pass after pass... they only play chicken.

I'd like to test PGDB online... anyone up for a chalenge?

I've been to portugal some 9 years ago. Been in Lisboa for a month, and visited some of the small pretty towns close by. REally liked the country.
