3D Printed Privateer ships.

While waiting for the 3D prints, I tried to scale more models.
The green falcon is the size of the Bandai kit and is 1:72 scale.
The three gray ships are from the file “DD_DEALR.3DS” and were scaled using the file “B_REPLAN.3DS” and my Tarsus. The ships look a little too small.
The scaling with the help of the chair will follow for comparison.

Let's see what size I get when I scale the ships using the chairs. They'll definitely be a bit larger than the gray ones. The maximum is the blue Galaxy. It will be interesting to scale the landing platforms, since they also vary in size depending on the spaceship. My goal is to develop one platform for all of them.

Next round of scaling.
I took the Galaxy from the file “MRCHGEAR.3DS”, because there are chairs and computers in the cockpit.
On the green one, the seat of the chairs is the same as the seat of the Tarsus.
The yellow one is almost the same size as the old blue one. I used the chair width as a reference.
The red one is almost the same size as the gray one. I scaled it using the computer.
If I take the interior into account, then the ideal size is yellow/blue.

I have enlarged the Orion and Centurion by the same factor (color black).
For me, the gray Centurion and black Orion look harmonious with the Tarsus and the blue Galaxy.
What do you think?

Taking the blue Galaxy as a point of reference, I think the gray Centurion and the black Orion are ok. The Tarsus should be bigger like 10-15% and the Gothri 10% larger.

I use the cockpits as fixed points.
Each cockpit contains at least one chair.
Even if the appearance of the chairs varies. The space for the pilot's ass remains the same in all of them.

However, I haven't seen a chair in the Orion cockpit. Probably the same as in the Tarsus, right?

I'm also not 100% sure how to get into the spaceships.
In the Tarsus you can see an entrance at the back.
On the Galaxy it's under the main hull.

Cybot has shown the canopy to open on his Centurion.
I think I will implement it identically on the Talon and Dralthi.

Does anyone have 3D models of the Talon with landing gear?

Privateers figures scale changes. the question is how to test the scale of things

First of all, thank you to everyone who has contributed constructively to the discussion.

I have taken up the suggestion from “kingmakeress” and adapted the spaceship sizes to each other.
This time I also integrated the cockpit equipment.
Thanks to “Cybot78” for the Centurion model.

The seats of the chairs and computers are all almost the same width for each ship.
My figures now fit into every cockpit. The last picture shows the Galaxy and Centurion cockpit.

Interpretation of the cockpit equipment, as the geometries of the hulls do not match the cockpit models.
Tarsus:
Here I have created an interior myself from the “Thingiverse” and the original model.
Galaxy:
Only the original model was scaled and shown as a test. Adjustment when building the model.
Centurion:
The size of the cockpit of Cybot78's Centurion is too small for my figures. Adjustment of the larger scaled cockpit when building the model.
Orion:
The same geometry problem as with the Tarsus.
A chair is missing in the cockpit. The cockpit door will be the same size as in the Tarsus.

Model versions:
Tarsus-A0:
Dummy to determine the external dimensions.
Tarsus-A1: Implementation of extras
- Interchangeable equipment (weapons, radar, generators, satellite dish)
- Lighting
- Openable cockpit
- More hull surface detailing
Tarsus-A2: first complete model with painting

What do you think of my Tarsus cockpit?
Does it look coherent?
Is the ratio of pilot figure to door okay?

Further tips and comments are welcome.

It looks pretty good. The cockpit is a bit cramped, but that's on point for its origins.

If I were scaling it myself I would probably use the ship dealer as the primary source, because it's the only time that we see the three main player ships directly together, with a figure to scale.

Another option I haven't seen is comparing the size of the weapons in the equipment screen, assuming that they're all the same size:

The Tarsus is an old rusty bucket and I want to create the close impression of a submarine.

My cockpit layout is a result of the interpretation of the different geometries of the models. Depending on the chosen scale it is not reasonable and/or possible to try to represent every detail. The use of a filament printer sets technical limits. Further details are created by scratch build or from the leftover box of other plastic models.

The graphics of Cybot078 are awesome and beautiful in a modern style.
My ambition is to realize the models in the retro style of the game. This means that the objects have corners and edges. Some details are missing or new ones are added.

@Bob McDob:
I also tried to take the scaling of the weapons into account. However, the mounting on the ships is different and not easy to implement.
For example, on the Centurion, the mounting of the lasers looks different to me from the front than from above.

Every ship has its own challenges.
First of all, a standardized scale should be defined.
It should be decided whether the spaceships should be with or without landing gear.
Cockpit interior yes or no?

My fleet should match in size and all be equipped with landing gear and cockpit interior.

For the four flyable ships I try to adapt the original cockpits.

For other ships you can let your creativity run free. I haven't found any concrete specifications for the landing gear and interior.

Only my 3D filament printer shows me limits in terms of printing area (250x250x250mm) and level of details.
Cutting the CAD model into the right pieces and reassembling them later after printing is not so easy either.
Especially if you want to add various extras to the basic model.

A quick test print.
The attempt to bring the Dralthi VII from Thingiverse to the same scale as the Tarsus.
Both models had the same laser cannon models which made scaling easier.

What do you think about the scale ratio?

I've also been looking at other ships besides the Tarsus.
Most of the ships are only shown in flight.

Does anyone have any ideas for landing gear for the spaceships?

Thanks for your opinion and help.
If you're looking for some ideas for Kilrathi landing gear, Wing Commander Academy (TV) has some
