Even a rebuilt Wing Commander 1&2 should be possible. The point is that there are enough resources available to rebuild the games on modern counsels. They won't be exactly the same as we remember but enough of the classic elements will be there. Looking at the Super Nintendo versions...
The fact that GOG has just released 1-3 proves that certain resources must still exist. These are not games made from 1978. These are multimillion dollar projects that made big money. If EA wanted to do it they could. If fans can upscale Wing Commander Prophecy videos to HD isn't it conceivable...
The 3Do version of Wing Commander III kinda shoots the theory of complex coding in the foot. I don't buy that for a second. I would like to see a new Wing Commander game too but the classics are too good to be forgotten. Wing Commander IV & Prophecy would probably be the most likely remasters...
Ya know... I been thinking long and hard about this. I can't for the life of me understand why with today's technology Wing Commander 1-Prophecy have not been reformatted and upgraded for modern PCs and counsels? I'm talking PS3 & XBOX360. Let me explain Wing Commander III-Wing Commander...
The voice acting for Super Wing Commander wasn't bad. The Sega CD version of Wing Commander would have been ok if they didn't change the music too much from the PC version.
An M2 version of Wing Commander III probably would have consisted of better graphics and higher quality video. One can only imagine what that would have been. Wing Commander IV was the 3D0 game I was most looking forward to after having played through Super Wing Commander and Wing Commander III...
Just how much of Wing Commander IV 3D0 was complete? I had heard that was completed just like SNES Wing Commander II. I wish I could go back in time and release this stuff.
I just dug up my 3D0 last night and played Super Wing Commander again. I know the storyline goes past Secret Missions 1-2. Does anybody know if Super Wing Commander 2 was in development before 3D0 went under?
How do I edit my Avatar? LOAF the music in the Sega CD game is nothing like the music in the PC game. Super Nintendo does the best with the source music. Sega CD uses some strange music that doesn't fit the game at all.
Does anybody else think that the Sega CD version of Wing Commander was a great port except for the music? I thought the music ruined the game. I was thinking about changing the music tracks to official Wing Commander tracks. Has anyone else done or thought about doing that?
