Quality Assurance Version 1.0

"Other ships armor and shield damage sound doesn't fade out, only weapons fire does." They do here. Specific to your computer?

The repair droid certainly does work, it might take a little more patience.

Rescue missions are usually easy money. Occasionally it is impossible to complete, but nothing is gauranteed in life.

Autopilot taking you 15,000 klicks away is correct.

Energy usage/production of shields/reactors is correct. As in the original, you do not want to have a higher level shield than reactor.

Another thing I'm wondering, just got the jump drive. And after jumping to another system I haven't seen a single ship! Only bases. I mean I did at least 10 jumps and didn't see ships since the Troy system! Seems a bit odd and boring because I can play merchant without having to worry about pirates at all. Is my game screwed or something because I installed the enhancement mod afterwards etc.?

Well how about that... All kinds of warnings and a long line of "ERROR: NULL Unit used in Python script; returning default value...". What is this, do I have to reinstall and start all over or what?

yikes that's worrisome...can you please send me the stderr.txt and stdout.txt to privater *atsign gmail.com

as for you...just restart the game--it should clear out (send those files first)

- Energy system feels a bit unbalanced compared to the original, afterburner takes all the juice in a second and decreasing shields is useless because it won't give any more energy etc.
Methinks you have no reactor. Buy a level 1 reactor for your Tarsus and you will have much more fun.

Radar Damage
A damaged radar doesn't seem to effect your radar screen, you could let it flicker in the intensity of the damage, color changes of the targets displayed would also be nice.

"Screen full of colourful garbage every time I start the game."
Same here.

"Jump engine fuel indicator should be blank if I don't have the engine like in original"
Agreed.

"Where's all the dangling wires and burnt electronics in the cockpit when my ship is a wreck?"
I think when the new high res cockpits arrive the artwork necessary will be done somehow :)

My feelings about the game

Excellent work, guys! I have been playing your Remake like crazy, mostly as merchant now in Troy system, because...

Talons are simply just too tough! I think that their armor and shield strenghts are not quite correct. I shot FIVE hits of PHOTON TORPEDOs at one of 'em and his hull was barely scratched! He managed to get his shields up between every hit tough, but Come On... In original even one torpedo went through their shields and did some serious damage, 2 torpedos were MAX a Talon could take.

Other stuff which you may freely ignore, just letting out some pressure:

Same kind of Buy/Sell 1, Buy/Sell 10 buttons for equipping missiles would be nice, also amount of missiles I have displayed in ( ) just like in base's stock.

If I buy a new gun/missile type directly over installed gun/missile in my ship, I don't get a refund! Well I can sell my old gun/missiles first, but would be more quick'n nice to swap them directly.

Draymans don't seem to have any weapons? Now they are completely helpless prey for the pirates.

Pirates seem to have their tractor beam buttons jammed at ON-position?

Original 320x200 cockpits scaled up to 1024x768 do look quite.. hmmm... blurry =) But I guess 3D-rendered hi-res cockpits aren't far away in the future.

Some kind of indicator displaying in which state my shields are set (low/medium/high) would be nice.

Sound and music volumes seem to go up and down, first when I start the game volumes are OK but may suddenly decrease massively when I'm launched to space. I'm using integrated C-Media 5.1 codec with the latest XP-drivers and no problems in other games whatsoever.

Photon, proton, whatever. Those big torpedoes anyway and I think everybody knows what I meant.

Which version are you using please? In 1.0pre I don't have a problem taking down talons with 2, max 3 torpedos.

The Drayman does mount two guns on the front. They tend to try to evade rather than try to dogfight an enemy. They either need a turret or two, or need to face their enemies a bit more so they can get some shots off. Either way is an easy fix.

I'm using the latest version. I suppose Talon can be destroyed if 3 torpedoes are fired rapidly from one angle, so that the first one takes shields down and the rest enough hull damage to destroy. But it has to be done exactly like that or you end up wasting your whole torpedo load to a single Talon if it manages to get shields up between every hit. This shouldn't be possible, IMO.

Again referring to original Privateer, 2 torpedoes were MAX Talon could take no matter what.

how do you get into chasecam then?
we don't have that many F-keys
F1 = fore F2 = Left F3 = right F4 = back F5 = Chase F6= cinematic F7 = view to target F8 = Target Cinematic F9 = match velocity F10 = halt match velocity F11 = zoom in F12 = zoom out

Ecm Package 3 is 50% damaged when loading ship

I think I found a bug in the game dealing with ship damage and loading a ship.

I have a centurion and a tarsus at New detroit. When swapping ships, I noticed that my Ecm Package 3 becomes 50% damaged. Even after I fix it and swap ships back and forth, the ECM is damaged again.

This also occurred when I fixed the ECM, saved my game, then quit and loaded the game again. My ECM was 50% damaged again.

I'm playing the 1.0pre5 version of the game.
Let me know if you want me to e-mail my save game file or the stderr.txt file.

1.0pre5 and I also noticed the 50% ECM-bug.

Erhm, how do you swap ships? I bought a Talon but I don't seem to be able to switch back to Tarsus, because I can't find that "My Fleet"-menu from anywhere.
Btw. can I buy a wingman to steer my old ship or do I have to construct my fleet by buying wingmen from the Missions-menu? I bought one merchant wingman and he didn't seem to be much of a help and he had some major difficulties in keeping formation. Also seemed that when I activated autopilot, wingman didn't and he was billion kilometers away after autopiloting :)

Another thing, I should be able to turn ECM on and off pushing Alt-E? Well in that case it doesn't seem to work here.

F5 for Turret view (switch)
I would prefer if the key assignment would be (of course) identically in the remake so an old privateer veteran could play it without problems, that's why the radar colors should be changed too but i mentioned that before :)

Since Perry is the heart of the confed military presence in Gemini, you should consider to place a paradigm with escort nearby, not always but often, i've never seen one there.

The My Fleet option is in the Buy Ships menu. The base you are at has to have a Ship dealer.
