So not working with Win98. Hmm, wasn't sure myself, like I already said, but I think to remember one guy who got it going. Maybe mixing there things up...Top Gun, DOS BOX is for WIN 2k/XP onlu, AFAIK.
Anyway, why would you need it if your machine has true DOS???
I'm not sure what the command was, but it helps you to free up conventional memory. And no DOS-book here either, so can't look it up.Apparently I don't have enough Coventional Memory to run WC II
Anyway, before running it, make a backup of your current once. - And of course best is to run DOS via bootdisk, so only things under DOS are shortened. Howe much memory do you have free at the moment? And maybe you could also post your autoexec.bat as well as config.sys, so we can help you to free up your conventional memory

- But don't forget to back up your old config.sys and autoexec.bat.
Oh and still best would be when you first post them here, like Edfilho said, before running memmaker. - That one helped me to free up my last missing few memory (you can always do it manually, but why not use it?
)depends on your CPU: For my K6-2 400MHzsimply switching off both internal and external cache in BIOS did the trick - This way I got perfect speedThere's a small problem with speed if you run WC1 with modern machines... So far I haven't encountered a slowdown program that wouldn't cause the game to be extremely jumpy with such extreme rates.

eDIT: And this also works for some more modern CPUs as well. Other somehow get even too slow this way (???)
)Well, if he would use XP or 2k, DOSBox would be still better, even with that CPU. But anyway I guess his main prob is not speed at the moment but conventional memory, which should be quite easy to fix, though.Well, Top gun has a 400mhz machine, it's not that hard to slow down. DOSBOX is really usefull for people with very fast machines (when compared to the hundreds of MHz oneS) and win nt/2k/xp - the DOS-less ones.
