WCPedia: WC1 Missions Status Reports

Dundradal

Frog Blast the Vent Core!
As it stands now, only the Enyo Series is 100% complete with all the relevant text inputed.

McAuliffe, Gateway and Gimle need Pre-Flight conversations, Briefings and Debriefings to be completed.

If people would like to volunteer to get to work on these sections I would greatly appreciate it. I'm going to continue the charge forward with new entries and the USG text.

If you are interested at taking a look at what has been accomplished so far here is the WC1 Missions Category.

If you've never had a chance to look at the WCI&II USG here's your chance to read about Lt. Col. LaFong's exploits and his impressions of other's missions. It's really a great read.

More progress today!

NoRemorse created some more mission entries and I've started to fill in the USG text for them.

We are in need of people to step up and work with the WC1 script to fill in additional blank spaces.

DaveO, how are you coming along with the Nav Map images? If you could start to upload and insert them into articles it would be great.

LOAF/anyone with the USG and a scanner - think you could get the nav maps that appear in the book uploaded as well?

We've made some good progress this week and should have a lot to talk about on Sunday.

Good work to everyone contributing!

EDIT - Just something funny I noticed when entering USG text.

Lt. Col. LaFong said:
Then I remembered the dogfight my roommate fought with Maniac in my plebe year. I turned slightly to the right and hit the backspace key to come to a full stop.

The progress continues on the WC1 missions.

I spent a bit more time last night creating entries, although most of them are just the template and infobox with the basic info in. Tonight I plan on plowing through as many of the created entries as I can and entering in the USG text.

Again, I'm appealing to wingnuts to step up and help us enter in some of the other text required for these articles. Grab a copy of the WC1 script, open up the CIC game guides page, and Wedge's script page and use those to find the proper text needed to be entered into missions. Even entering little things, like the date of missions, etc is a big help as I don't have the time to do this all myself.

Every little bit helps and we've still got a lot to do, considering we have only scratched the surface of WC1.

Been a bit busier this week, so not as much progress, however later tonight I'm going to devote a chunk of time to adding more USG text.

We really could use some people to work on other aspects of the articles, obviously of biggest concern is the WC1 text itself. Don't be afraid or shy, if you think you would like to help but know nothing of wiki, don't worry neither did I at first, and to be honest, I've still got a lot to learn.

Feel free to ask questions on formatting, wikicode, etc. The more hands we have working on this project the better.

Just think of how amazing WCPedia will be when it's 100% complete. It will make any wingnut drool and just think of the hours...hell days...you could spend reading the articles.

So get off your ejection seats (but remember to check the safety before opening the cockpit) and give us a hand.

Missions are still moving along. As I mentioned in the WC1 script thread I'm going to start going back through with WC1 mission text and adding them to existing articles just so that we don't fall too far behind on any one aspect of these articles.

I could really use some help, even if it's something small contributing something is better than doing nothing at all.

Been a bit busy the last week so haven't had time to work on any entries. My students have spring break next week so I'll try to devote a good chunk of time to getting some work done on the mission entries.

Anyone else up for helping out?

Since my Xbox 360 is down and out for a while I will certainly have more time to work on the mission entries. I'm going to work on a bunch of stuff after dinner tonight and over the following week since I don't have any classes to teach.

EDIT: DaveO how are those Nav maps coming along? I'd love to see some more added in the coming days if possible.

Also, what's everyone else's status? Should we hold another meeting this Sunday to try and refire the collective energy?

If need be I'm free this weekend and would be more than willing to organize it again.

By this Saturday, I'll have some of the losing path missions covered. I have planned Gateway, Brimstone, Cheng-du, and Port Hedland. I've finished a direct winning path campaign, so I'll check those points to see if they also need nav maps.

Every entry except Enyo and McAuliffe I believe need their nav maps.

I've made some progress tonight on the WC1 script. Worked on filling in the Gateway missions.

Question: How/where should we put the end system images/text?

For example after you finish McAuliffe/Gateway there is the scene on the Terran Research Colony. Should we add them to the end of the final mission for each series or create something specific for them?

EDIT: Gateway Series is now finished besides the USG nav map images that we need someone to scan in as well as some of the Infobox information.

I've been messing around with the CIC Game Guides nav map images and I think you can save yourself a lot of work by using those images. They seem to scale fine once they are uploaded into WCPedia.

EDIT: Here's what I decided to do with the Win/Lose movies at the end of some series Psi Wing McAuliffe

All that entry is missing now is the victory points which LOAF said he'd be going back through at some point and filling in for me.

Looks pretty good if you ask me. :D

I'm also cranking away on some more missions tonight. Things are moving along really well!

I got quite a bit done tonight. Uploaded a bunch of nav maps and some other images as well as adding WC1 script text to a bunch of missions.

I'm going to devote most of tomorrow to finishing up the current articles that we have created before I create any more. I'm also going back through and filling in any small gaps that we may have left in originally creating articles (dates, medals, etc)

Whole bunch of work done on the mission front today. Finished up Brimstone articles for the most part and moved into Cheng-Du.

Sylvester has also done some great work on the Vesuvius and Midway-Class entries. Be sure to check them out!

EDIT: Cheng-Du is finished.

That leaves 7 systems remaining to be finished - Dakota (only needs script text), Kursawa, Venice, Port Hedland, Rostov, Hubble's Star and Hells Kitchen

Almost there!

You can scratch off Dakota. Finished it up this morning and luckily caught an error in the fighter type used.

That leaves 6 systems and roughly 18 missions left to do.

Port Hedland is one mission away from being complete. I'll try to finish it up tomorrow. I can finally see the end of the WC1 tunnel!

I loaded the remaining nav maps to the site. I have only the final four missions to fly for WC1 on the losing path. All other missions have been covered.
