Wc4 Cd#7

Depends, if all the cutscenes are is talking around the bar or in the briefing room, then live actors are definitly the way to go. BUt if they put in lots of scenes with major stuff happening especially one on one scenes with Nephilim, then CG might be better.

I was amazed by FF. Problem was that I knew everything was not real before I saw it. But there were some scenes where they really looked real.

Too bad the Final Fantasy movie was so badly written, it should be banned from further public view or even handed over to Joel Hodgeson for an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I think that might be just a tad overcritical of the movie. It wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the word, but it certainly didn't suck.

It did suck. A lot.

Typical, cardboard cutout characters. Ex: A general who lost his family to these creatures and has a "sympathetic revenge" scene. He builds a weapon to destroy the "Phantoms" and fails, so he shoots it again to no avail.

Typical, banal dialouge. Ex: Aki: This mission was well worth the lives of you and your men.
Jane: "Men"?
Ryan: She thinks you're a man.
Jane: I think she's an idiot.
Neil: I know you're not a man.
Jane: I think YOU'RE an idiot too.

Wow, GREAT characterization there.

The only thing this movie had going for it was Elliot Goldenthal's score. Since people don't like me talkin about music on this board, I'll stop right there. :)

Sounds like a typical conversation on this board to me! :D

look at the final fantasy movie.

Exactly my point, Zor! Keep in mind that FF is only the beginning, and imagine how characters would look like in two or three more years from now.
Have only seen cutscenes, so the only thing I'm talking about here is techniques used, guys.

So, LeHah, I do think at least the Special Effects should be added to the list that this movie had going. Cannot judge about the rest, besides, each to his own liking.

Oh, and Unforgiven: ROFLMAO... chalking up another for the Unforgiven!

So anyways, all this was about is that the new techniques give us a nice edge in using characters whose actors unfortunately have passed away, grown too old or too fat, or too popular and thus expensive.

But I am still puzzled about the legal implications. LOL

You should know that LeHah is overcritical of nearly everything. :)

I didn't see FF, but I did see the ads for it. The older man was the one who struck me as being definitely fake.

Mmhhh... yes... and you've missed the good parts too, since something like this happened before you came here... :)
