WC:CD "Fan Input"

that hurricane looks pretty good now, i feared it would end up as a raptor clone, but now its just something new. good work

as far as for nephilim ships:

how about including the "chimera" from prophecy? that ships was never used in the game.

take a look at http://wcsom.solsector.net/wcsom/index.html and scroll down to the chimera in section files

Well as you can see Triple-B, If I do try and make something...I do try and make it perhaps similar but never the same then something else...That would take any type of artistry away from the project.

I voted no on the Chimera, Just because it looks like a strange ship in general...I've opted to start work on the "Tarpon" Which is too the far top right of this image (Circled) and also the "Earwig" (Circles Below that one) Which is a support craft of some sort....Not sure what kind tho...

Maybe the "earwig" is used for in-flight rearming and refueling, and other fighters can dock onto it, or the earwig docks onto other fighters.

KEVIN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ! ! !

Anywho.....Yea I'm not really too sure what it's for... I would like to make it a functional type of craft in the mod....I was actually thinking of some sort of mine layer similar to how the Remora lays like 10 mines at once type of deal. Maybe this could just crap mines all day long :p

mmh, kevins idea is not so erroneous after all,

a earwig clips to its "targets" and so possibly does the earwig in prophecy. it clips to figters for rearming or refuelling.

a better minelayer would be in my eyes the triton, since it is bulkier analog to the clydesdale for example

Ok then I'm not going todo the "Earwig" Because it seems a little pointless in the Vision engine to have Nephilim "Rearm" &/or " Refuel" .

I'll just stick to doing the Tarpon fighter then

at least you could use the earwig as a "deco ship", put some turrets on it and it functions as a light corvette, but represents a rearming ship

some mission goals could be to destroy those "support ships" in order to weaken the alien force, for example

edit: I just looked at the star soldier magazine. the broadsword executioner does not have any torpedos. are you planning to overtake the star soldier magazines stats for the ships?

Here's the Vendetta again...I redid the rear of the ship...on the left and right and even the bottom I still have todo the fuselage and the gun textures again but you get the idea....After the Fuselage is done...I'm never touching this fighter again...And NO I'm not adding anymore pirate logos I sick of looking at that thing that I am. When I do the Fuselage I'll add certain details to the fuselage similar to the Hurricane II...

In certain cases...yup

I don't think the Nephilim had Humans' ideas of aesthetics in mind when they grew their ships. Or however the construct their spacecraft.

Ok so I started on the Tarpon...Let me know what you think so far...It tips the scales at the moment at a whole 415 polys...

The guns haven't been added as of yet...I was thinking that also the Puffer needs some guns added....At the moment the Puffer is some kinda of Missile boat. The Tarpon I was thinking on being some kinda of extremely fast fighter, Heavily armed but not armed heavily in the weapons area. To be honest it's so much easier to make a crazy looking ship then something that is uniform for some reason...The Textures will look similar to some other Nephilim fighters a little different but similar

I don''t think you should add external guns. Gunboats like that, in most games, have an impressive forward mounted gun/projectile array of weaponry but no real defensive armaments and thus need an escort to attack. Simply put you've got corvettes that are strong against fighters and gunboats that are tough against cap ships, but need defense against fighters. It's all about balance.

Good point Frosty...I'll keep that in mind...

Here's a textured "Tarpon" I'm still not finished I gotta add the guns like it (Kinda) shows in S*S. Whatya guys think? I'm not even sure what kinda fighter the Tarpon should be.....

Well Here is exactly what I was thinking....

I developed a Nephilim Rocket that can bust through shielding on capships.... So the Puffer would be the only ship to mount these rockets...... And it kinda brings up a fleeting need to down those ships first during a mission....I was thinking it would have a slower speed and light on the armor and need escorts but it would be able to take down capships and even fighters very quickly

Added some guns to the Tarpon and since noone commented....This ship is finished and on to the next one.....The Earwigy...Although I have no clue what type of ship it is going to be.

Maybe it's some kind of warrior Nephilim troop transport that drills into the side of enemy ships to deliver an assault.... kind of like the bug equivalent of the Marine LC.

That is actually a really good idea on perhaps the ships purpose..... I wouldn't be able to show that in the engine, But I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them in a mission to down the ships before they get to your carrier....I like that :D
