Hey, you wouldn't mind making the model available for use, would you? That's a really wonderful design.

What class of ship is this supposed to be? It might be ideal to be a design for the Gettysburg-class ship (TCS Austin) that we pretty much never saw in the game.

Another entrance (exit) for the hangar might be nice (I can only see an aft one), unless launches on this bird are supposed to take place via launch tubes.

How 'bout it, Lynx?...

I'll make the model available when it's finished:) . It's about 50% ready. The bridge model is a typical case of intuitive modelling (= I made it without really knowing what I'm doing), so it's just a placeholder until I have a real good looking bridge, the smaller turret models will change, I'll add gun barrels with more polys(rounder), and there's something I don't like about the arrangement of the engine models.

The aft hangar will be probably the only one since this ship is supposed to be a battlecruiser, it holds only a limited fighter compliment. I could carve a forward launch bay in the green protruding section on the middle underside, but it would be seperate to the other bay.

It looks great, definitely has a WC1 feel about it (don't know if that what you were looking for or not), kindof like a cross between an Exeter and a Bengal. I'm going to nitpick a bit, but overall it looks pretty mean. I'm a big advocate of field of fire design justification, not just placing turrets where they look good ;). The missile launcher mounts have a very limited field of fire, the 2 on top especially, you can only fire forward from the bottom missile turret and neither set can shoot at something on your tail. I would suggest putting one on top of your 'tail fin' or replacing the laser turrents beside the missile launchers with the missiles. Also, your field and quantity of fire up front is commendable (overpowering in fact, which is good for a battlecruiser) but your laser turrets covering your aft section are a little wanting. If I was a bomber I'd settle in right behind you (one because you have no missile launchers to cover that area and 2 because the turret coverage is limited to 2 dual-laser (maybe three if the pursuit vector wasn't directly aft). the laser turrets directly behind the little 'tank cylinder thingies' on the sides of the cruiser have seem pretty much useless(aren't effective for bogies trailing and can't shoot through the bulkheads up front - only good for protecting a very small aft area). I'd probably move those turrets down a bit to the 'green area' just beside their current position (towards the 'wings') giving you a better view forward and aft. I'd also add some laser turrets under the cruisers afts section (corresponding to the positon on top) to better protect your butt.
Just some suggestions, but every capship has a weakness. Take the cruiser and destroyer from WC3. If you approached the tallahassee class from just underneath the bow, you'd barely get scratched. If you approached the destroyer from about the 4-5 or 7-8 o'clock positions, the same would happen. Your battlecruiser may just have its weakness directly aft.
Again, great job, better than I could ever do!

Not only is that one sexy lookin ship, I love the color scheme.

Not that it's canon, but this looks like a Gettysburgh to me... Cruiser with very clear lineage both to Exeter and Bengal classes... I don't think it was intended as such but it seems to fit the bill nicely. I love the rear hangar bay, in keeping with the Tallahassee class and it's tiny hangar bay in the back...

If I remember correctly, the Gettysburg-class (not TCS Gettysburg) was supposed to be some sort of large heavy cruiser of sort. This could be a "artists interpretation" of what it was really supposed to be like (there's too many damn ships out there that are mentioned in canon but we have no freaking idea what they look like).

nicely done... very nice..

btw, would you mind to help us? I guess to remember we have come to some sort of agreement. I just do not know what it was :p

and would you mind to post this in WC3D forum?

Hmm, this reminds me, a while ago somene posted a cool pic of a Tiger's Claw with a Midway bridge on it - what ver happened to that model?

And yeah, I would definitely chalk this up as a Gettysburgh class cruiser if it were up to me.

well.. it was Lars, one of the members of WCSaga project, who created the so called TCS Black Guard, a modification of the existing Bengal class
