Starsector Wing Commander project

With the reworking of the hellcat, i've given the wildcat a new pass. Further accentuating its vintage properties, breaking up the shape, adding touches of rust. Its also to give a potential avenue for *an even older* fighter craft if i wish to make it.

The gladius has been updated and is now called the Falaia (Since the game already has a fighter called the Gladius)

I also bring an absolute abomination.

Basically, its a Falaia with a big missile launcher crammed into it. Why? Someone really wanted the Falaia with a missile launcher. Its got some rust and gunk but its the only way you can have a Falaia with a missile launcher.

Like a light bomber?
Its a falaia with a 6 tube missile system. It can do light bomber stuff, since its still a lot of missiles in the grand scheme of things.. so I suppose, yeah. Though its often used to just overwhelm another fighter and take it out quickly by just dumping a lot of missiles their way.

No no, just 6 missiles. Basically the idea from the pilot is 'i can go into a battle, unload all 6 and ensure whatever small target i'm up against gets overwhelmed and destroyed' and since its still a lot of missiles, it can work against larger craft decently.

Yes, assuming the fighter stats are comparable to that of Privateer, a volley of six missiles is indeed enough to take out any fighter.

Also if Falaia can be configured to carry six proton torpedoes, then it is a threat to capital ships, especially a wing of them under a fighter cover.

Sadly I can't give it both an anti fighter missile system and a torpedo system in game. I can only have one. I originally wanted it to carry bombs that it would simply use momentum to throw at ships.. but.. it didn't quite work out in my mind.

It looks great! Based on Demon I guess. Do you have a naming scheme for your ships?
Aboriginal naming scheme for some stuff, though ill give a comprhensive naming pass once its starting to be overall implemented. that way I can avoid naming my stuff after stuff alraedy in the game or in popular mods.

It's cause I want there to be a good spread at each size class. The waterloo fits as a cruiser/destroyer and since I have a lot of cruiser candidates, I busted it down to destroyer size.
Hmm, if anything I would think the cruiser class was underrepresented. The Gettysburg, Plunkett and Concordia are all large enough that they really are capitals (the Concordia in particular is described as "the largest battleship in Confed's fleet"). Arguably the Hades wound count as a capital as well, it's larger than the Tiger's Claw.

You'd be surprised at the amount of content I've been able to wring out of wing commander as a franchise, combined with original stuff i'm designing. So its not a problem.
