Something I noticed in wcp intro

I'd like to have the pride of the fleet named after me. :)
But if you have been a soldier all your life, would it not appropriate to name a warship after you? Well, a matter of taste, especially after it has been desttroyed :(

It depends on what sort of a soldier you are -- if you were fighting only because you had to, wouldn't a research vessel be more of an honor?

Angel was no bloodthirsty soldier who enjoyed killing her enemies, I agree. But she was such a perfect soldier loyal, brave and good at her job and I still think she deserved something special. I mean if they had named the class after her that would have be an honour. But this Copernicus vessel does not seem very special to me, it makes the impression of a mass product on me.
And warships hold longer than research vessels ( I guess) so her fame would last longer (on a ship name). Of course if they had named a Corvette after her that would neither have been what I want. She deserved something special/new, perhaps the Midway should have been name Devereaux, after all Blair was quite important in the development. He could have brought forth such a suggestion. And BTW, I never heard that Angel was much interested in research.
But it is a matter of taste, as so often.

I say that the TCS Deveroux was perfect for angel and now confed should make 2 sister ships one the Deveroux the other the Blair.

The woman who calculated that 1.4 missiles or 7 laser hits were necessary to destroy the Dralthi wasn't interested in research:)?

As for lifetimes... the TCS Tsiolkovsky lasted from SM2 to WC2 -- better than any carrier we served on. :)

As for Blair putting forward the suggestion to name the Midway after the love of his life: that sounds rather too sentimental and small-minded for him.

Well she liked statistics, as she was doing everthing after the book. But planetological examinations?
And for the lifetimes of carriers: LOL, sad but true. But I meant generally, not the carriers that had the bad luck of having Blair onboard <g>.
But I agree that it would have been too kitschy for Blair to have proposed that name. But Paladin or somebody else could have done it. I just felt that a Battleship or an entire class of new ship should have been named after her. Not just a tiny, lonely research vessel that gets destroyed the minute we hear about it.

LOL! Yeah, I remember that... crazy talks with Paladin and Angel, first time you came on board... :)

BTW, guys stop the massacre on Angel's last name!!
She's Belgian, you write it the French/Belgian way:

Jeannette "Angel" DEVEREAUX !!!

Guh? I've always spelt "Devereaux" Devereaux. :)

It was just an idea to justify why the "Midway" could have been named "Devereaux". But I took the suggestion back because it is indeed too kitschy for Blair to do that.
