Problems? Post them here...

Not unless you have a user account on our server ;).

It's just a bugtracking system - Dundradal posts bug reports in there, they are automatically assigned to whoever is responsible for a particular component of the game, and that person then reports when the bug is fixed or assigns it one of a few other possible statuses - won't fix, invalid (not a bug), works for me (can't replicate problem).

Wow. I tempted the crash gods too long. My wife was in the kitchen reading, I'm finishing the last mission. Returned to the carrier, and got "Mission Acc" ->crash. Unbelievable. My first crash came with seconds to go.

A few of the CapShips have invulnerable turrets: Hakaga, Snakier, and Rigakh come to mind.

I was branded a traitor often enough to wonder if it's a bug, or perhaps too sensitive...

Other than that, absolutely fantastic. I'll have to replay the last mission to see the ending, however... Stupid OpenGL (I assume).

Usually if you hit a friendly ship twice it will call you a traitor. This happens especially when trying to save the Firekka from enemy torps, sometimes you'll end up hitting your carrier

It's also happened to me twice that I fired a missile at a Kat fighter only to have a friendly fly right into it and get blown up. Instant traitor. Annoying when it happens but not much to be done.

Just to confirm the bug in that Concordia mission we discussed a few posts back, it does only take place IF you run from nav 1.

It happened to me again just now, wasn't able to autopilot away, and once again I'd retreated manually from the first nav (after being 'strongly advised' to do so) without destroying all the Kilrathi fighters in the area.

The turrets aren't invulnerable on any ship. Are you saying you can't hit them with guns (ie the ship's shields prevent it) because that is something we can go back over and fix. I was pretty sure I'd checked them all out, but if you can get a screenshot from the angle you are attacking them (and make it clear as to where the turret is and which ship) Eder can probably go back in and fix the issue.

Possible Workarounds

You can find the Nvidia Control Panel in Vista if you right click your desktop - Personalize - Display Settings - Advanced Settings... - Your Card (for me it Says GeForce 8800GT) and there will be a Button to start the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Once there go to "Manage 3D Settings"

Extension limit was set to "Off" for me, turning it "On" stopped the Random Crashes that i got about 10 Minutes into a Mission, or when i was flying serval Missions after another without doing the quit and restart.

"Ambient Occlusion" seems for me to make the Game a lot darker when its set to on, so if you have the Problem that everything seems Black, try turning that to "Off"

Be warned those are some Advanced Settings, and if you don't know what you do you could make things worse, or get problems in other Games, so use at your own Risk :)

Let's not give people too much hope about that ;). Capship collision trees are still hugely problematic - those errors aren't there because we didn't notice them, they're there because we accepted them as "good enough" after multiple attempts to get them right. Of course, that was, for the most part, years ago, and it's possible that Eder could fix them now... but as far as I know, we haven't really learned anything more about why collision trees sometimes wind up as messed up as they do. It's still trial and error.

Sorry- I should have been clearer. There are turrets on the ships I mentioned that can't be destroyed by gunfire. I'll go invulnerable and get screenies for you. In the greater scheme of things, I figured it's not a big deal at all.

I am curious as to why the friendly bombers have such a fascination with attacking Targu II's.

Actually this didn't work for me, still crashing with HDR. (at least on that mission in ep5A where you go after the big fleet with no supercarriers)

Yeah, no progress whatsoever on the collision tree front, I'm afraid. Last time I tried to do anything about it, I made it worse.

Just my input...

The only (somewhat) different bug I've had is on the Sim mission 11 (I think...the single Clydesdale escort mission w/the stealth fighters at the end of it)...I haven't completed it successfully yet. The game crashes with "record-skipping" audio from the Clydesdale as it dies. It hangs at that point.

This has been the only sim mission I've played since installing Ep. 5, so I don't know about any others, and gods know there's much more before me. So if I've overlapped, I'm sorry. But if not...there ya go. :)

That worked for me also! Completed prologue without any crash!

Am I the only one for whom the last mission of the winning path ep 5 ALWAYS crashes sometime before it ends?

Same for me. even with trying different setting or restart the game between missions. But it s ok, i need to train again and again before playing it on more difficult level !

I thought it was just me... I can't see the end of the game. I've completed the last mission 4 times now and dumped each time as soon as I dump out of autopilot on my return to the carrier. Each time it was the only mission I'd played.
