Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

3) For the Sandoval mission, the final destination Liverpool refinery does not show up in the objectives listing on your flight computer. (See screenshot)
That screenshot shows the objectives for the first Tayla mission, not Sandoval's mission. Tayla isn't sending you to Liverpool ;)
7) On the Argicultural planet Victoria in the Junction system and other bases, the Galaxy space ship are listed as two types instead of one.
You're going to notice that a lot, on different worlds and with different ships. You might also notice that one of them costs more and is pre-equipped. Anyway, pre-equipped ships will be making an exit with the first patch.

Is it? Still, why doesn't show the final destination?

I also find that when you talk to the bartender not all of his dialogue are spoken.
Sometimes the text dialogue does not match the spoken dialogue. (Eg. The character says, "damn" and the text reads, "hell")

In the original Privateer the asteroids can be destroyed if you shoot at them, for the remake they can't be destroyed.

Here we go.

The two Light-Missile hardpoints on Gladius cannot be equipped with Tractor Capability, while the single one on a Demon can. Possibly not a bug, I dunno.

The Centurion can only equip L4 shields and reactor once you reach RF. It should be L5.

Gladius in RF can still only use L2 reactor and shields, no change from Privateer. That can't be right, can it?

Demon in RF can also only go up to L2 shield/L3 reactor, no change.

Your hull takes damage at a disproportionately fast rate once your armor is penetrated. (Or maybe it's just that I'm living that much longer since I got Isometal Armor and Isometal Hull. And that when my hull is taking damage it's usually because I'm fighting a dozen-plus Talons as part of a Defend misison.)

If there are more than 5 ships in the area, my framerate usually drops from 30 to low single-digit when I switch to front view from a side view. It doesn't go back up for almost a minute, and I have to Afterburner Scramble™ away until it does, because at that low of a framerate, it's too jittery to fight. (This might be because my video card sucks, I dunno.) (The number in the top right of the non-cockpit HUD is the framerate, right?)

Enemies seem to be VERY good at keeping their front facing you while turning, as if they were circle-strafing. I can't see how this would be possible normally.

Milspec Stiletto is disproportionately more expensive than stock. (Stock is 160,000, Milspec is 2,000,000. Simple case of too many zeros, perhaps?)

Gun Cooler does not seem to increase the Laser's rate of fire.

If no part slots are available and you want to change guns, you have to sell something to open up a space slot, equip the guns, then buy whatever you sold back.

Pilots shouldn't keep talking after they blow up.

I shouldn't hear a male voice from a Retro, then taunt him and get a female voice.

Other bugs:

If you are using the Orion's back turret and the ship is destroyed, you are still flying in the Orion ship. If you press F1 to go to the front you would still end up in the back turret.

In the mission computer if you accept a cargo mission and then a patrol mission, the cargo mission mysteriously disappears from the active mission list.

Sometimes when accepting missions from the merchant's guide, the merchant computer confirms your selection, but if you check your mission computer the mission is not there.

Is it me or are the enemy insanely powerful and too numerous.

I encountered a squad of five Kilrathi ships and their guns sliced though my level 5 Orion shields in seconds. They were suppose to be armed with lasers! The enemy also have super accuracy even on the easy difficulty. When I make a run for it with afterburners and rolling right and left, the back of my ship got hit with no problem.

I find that respawning after you die increases the number of enemies in your area.

That base doesn't have a name.
In the original Privateer the asteroids can be destroyed if you shoot at them, for the remake they can't be destroyed.
We know. We've played both ;) Seriously though, well, I don't want to get any hopes up :)

That is as it should be. Centurion's max in RF is 4. You can hexedit to 5 in RF (which you couldn't before) but the non cheating max is 4.
If no part slots are available and you want to change guns, you have to sell something to open up a space slot, equip the guns, then buy whatever you sold back.
Why not sell the gun you are replacing? That should open a slot..

Odds are you aren't taunting the same ship. Retro 1 taunts you with male voice, you taunt Retro2 and she responds with female voice. If there actually is a bug there it will be easier to spot in 1.1, as the speaking unit will be indicated.

I guess u flought the orion.... fact is: the orion is a big, bully kind a "yaeh hit me!" ship with a brough arse, slow motion and bad shield to speed rate.

Try the demon, and ur happy.

Speed is more than shields in the case if PrivRemake!

1) For Lynch's first mission, I killed off Seelig and then he respawned again, killed him again and he respawned a third time before not appearing again.

2) The Tachyon Turret cannot be mounted on the Centurion.

3) Starting with the Lynch missions, when you encounter a dialogue trigger event, the dialogue starts first and then the text shows up putting the speech and text out of sync.

4) When talking with the main storyline fixers sometimes the speech volume drops for no reason.

5) As others pointed out Oxford mission 3 is impossible to complete because the hunter ships does not show up as hostiles, making them very difficult to target.

Some graphic glitches:

1) When in combat in the Centurion, the frontal armor got hit to zero and the B&S Omni radar got knocked out. I ended up getting this flashing grey bar at the top of the cockpit and on the frontal armor indicator. Even after the repair this graphic glitch did not go away.

2) The armor shows damage eventhough armor and hull are at 100%

Other issues:

1 I'm sure if this is done on purpose, but for the first Exploratory Services mission the objective is not stated when you leave the station.

2 The Steltek Drone appears before you land on the derelict and take the gun.

3 In the original, there were various communications you could have sent to the Steltek Drone (A few of the communications were funny) In the remake none could be sent.

4 As I remember in the orignal the Steltek Drone was very fast and deadly, in the remake it seems easier to outrun it.

Good to see you working through the game.

When your cockpit takes damage, buy a "general repair" at the ship dealer. It is meant to fix everything that isn't on the list of components. IE, there is no "cockpit" component you can buy, sell or repair, so general repairs covers that.

no radar

dont know if its a setting but i havnt had a radar from the start of game.
still with first ship.
upgraded radar but to no avail.

Radar problems have been a result of old video card drivers in the past. Grab some new drivers and see what happens; your initial ship should have a working radar.

Ohh I feel really stupid now.
I thought I had the latest drivers duh.

Well I also wanted to say thnx and congrats of getting the game running
If you only knew how much I loved the original wing series of games.

well back to the game now that I have a radar its on!!

thnx again guys

Kaydence mission: after getting the task of escorting the senator, I've met the "robot", who was supposed to say something (probably promise reward for surrendering my ward) but he didn't.

Kaydence mission again: when protecting Paradigm from AWACS, it suddenly turned hostile, even though it was too far for me to hit it even by accident. Later I found out that all Confeds are hostile as well. Does killing an AWACS count as killing a confed?

I was able to dock Paradigms and Draymans... inside they look just like space bases, with bars, guilds, commodities etc. I realize that it's more of a feature than a bug... but would you please reconsider? A spaceship, even a large one is not the same as a space station. Even if you don't have means to paint an interior of Paradigm/Drayman as it *could* look, a bare landing pad wihtout exit point to the "city" would be quite enough without ruining believability.

After an escort mission is over, the target stays in space, even after you land/launch. With quest-related escorts like Toth or Kaydence's senator, it looks particularly misplaced.

I was in Perry, jumped to Midgard and was tractoring in a Dralthi that was sitting at a jump point (to Rikel) when I suddenly TRACTORED IN THE JUMP BUBBLE!! Apparently they're only worth 170 credits at the nearest base as space salvage!

Other than that and a few other things that others have mentioned, everything's smooth as butter. I'd like to say thanks for giving me the opportunity to replay the best game (in my opinion) that I've ever played. And regardless of what others may say, I love the added features of the game. It allows me to do things that I used to wish I could. I've never been more impressed by a remake in my life. I was literally blown away when I played it!! Anyway, guess that's enough groveling at the feet of the masters for now. Thanks!

Indeed. Was just noticing that the other day that stuff was still in there. Would be quite easy to lop it off and leave a landing pad and computer screen.

Luck: if you play with some of the added features, things might just break hehe. That would have been fixed long ago if the situation were at all common (never been in it myself). Sometime. Anyway, glad you've enjoyed it.

Custom plot: when asked to deliver prisoners to New Con, I decided to take the revolutionary path. AWACS were still hostile to me, though. Even after I escaped to Auriga without fight and took the mission from Demetria, they would shoot at me, including the Drayman I was supposed to protect. Well, I may be a capitalist pig, but right now I'm *your* capitalist pig, so a minimal politeness would be in handy, comrades.

(BTW, if I take Corporate's side, Soren gives some missions that look like generated by random numbers. Is there some plot beyond that, or he's just another infinite random mission source?)

there's a bug in the faction relations...we'll fix it for 1.1 :-/
kinda makes things annoying...
as for the soren--it does have a climax mission

Steltek Drone

After I got the steltek gun at the derelict, I flew back to Rygannon and got my mission payment. Then I did not know what to do. Since it appeared that I could not harm the drone, I frist ran away. But then I found out, that proton torpedos harm the drone without first harming the shield. It took me just some 40 hits with torpedos to kill the drone, which I did (lacking other hints what to do) and which messed up the story line completely.

The steltek drone should not be vulnerable to proton torpedos either, should it?

Thanks for the great game!
