Panic ensues in rush for cheap laptops (pictures)

I think $50 bucks is a pretty good deal for a computer. Unless you plan to play games, there is no really good reason to buy a brand new computer. It'll just be out of date before you know it. If you need it for the internet and word processing, a 4 year old computer is just fine, and for $50 bucks no less.

I wouldn't trample anyone for one though.

I Agree, however, eariler in the post, we were disscussing what Macs were good for other than games, and those uses do make it worth buying a brand new computer.
