LEGO Commander salutes CIC

Lego Wing Commander would be awesome. Ships, game, the whole package.

The Lego games (both Star Wars and Indiana Jones) are very good and could easily be adapted to Wing Commander. A dream, yes, but a good one.

Can you imagine the Lego Blair-in-black and Lego Bioconvergence chemist doing puzzles in the Axius Superbase?

~~~... a few specific pieces already exist... the flashpack disk exists as a common round'n'flat piece (usually used with a star or radar-type pattern) in most Lego Star Wars and Lego Space / Lego Mars Mission sets... it just needs the right sticker applied to it.
Lego software already exists to design your own sets... but I got no idea how to export the files into any kind of useable form that a game-engine could use. Would be relatively easy though in some ways... in others, its complex. Are internal sides or unseen internal blocks still rendered (or even calculated) when a lego-fighter is intact, or is there a subroutine that "adds them in" for the explosion/break-up?
Maybe someone here works for the company that made Lego Star Wars and can ask around how they did it? The standard WC fan-games (like Standoff, Pioneer, Flight Commander, etc) I would have some general idea of what's involved... but having to add that whole "its made of LEGO, when you kill an enemy it breaks into its LEGO bits" thing... unless you had some kind of special LEGO-max-3d type models or something to help speed up with that extra coding it seems like going like this:
Flight Commander > to > Lego Flight Commander
1 CDrom > to > 6 CDroms
cause of all the extra fancy coding to simulate lego-bits and/or how a lego-ship would break up and/or the animations of a lego-ship breaking up
