Is it just me or does Flash look a little like Jazz...?

btw- What the heck is up with Maniac in WC2 SO?? Is he... high??

(this is my first time playing through WC2 :D )

I don't know.. he seemed like a fun guy ever since WC IV... I just wouldn't want to be a rookie and in his squadron... he's not very nice to them :(

Of course it does! Although, our military has regulations against hazing 'plebes' now...:(

Just as we have regulations about stealing a visiting football team's mascot and BBQing it?

Respectfully,

Brian P.

[Supposedly, this is an adjunct to the Army-Navy Football game every year -- both teams try to steal the other team's mascot in the weeks before the game]

maniac as a leader, can anyone say rapid promotion, i like maniac as a wingman in all but WC1 were he would just run off and get killed but in the rest he would run off and kill especially in WC2 must be the crack, i think someone should put the WC2 maniac on a wheaties box:D

I recall that in WC1 Maniac did not break and attack without permission but once you gave him the permission once, he wouldn't listen to any new order from there on.

as I remember it he always beak and attack with out my permission and then call for help that got me killed or badly dammaged.

Do you know the Maniac...?

Maniac is so cool :D

I loved it in WC3 when he starts talking to Blair about Admiral Tolwyn usurping command from Eisen and Blair mentions that the Admiral didn't even know he existed!

I loved the response- "Everybody knows the Maniac! Everybody!"

Then he yells out to the whole bar and asks if anyone knows "the Maniac..," the music stops and everyone is quiet.

Comic relief at its best. Maniac rulez

I always avoided flying with Maniac in Wc3. And Flash. Only because I was greedy and wanted a higher kill count - but I suppose now that flying with them would make it more of a challenge to actually get the kills

In Wc4 Maniac was tolerable only on difficult missions or when it was possible to fly with mutliple wingmen. I always enjoyed the experience of Panther, Hawk and Maniac kicking up damage in the missions against the Vesuvius, and getting around the Ella Starbase

IIRC, the only way to get WCI Maniac to obey orders was to volley off a few rounds of laser fire at him, he would say,
"Hey, watch it idio.....I mean, commander"
Then he would obey your orders, responding with
"You got it Baby"

Although what that last line implies about the WCI Maniac is best left unsaid.

Dunno, never tried it
IIRC, Halycon gave you permission in WCI to put a few shots across at Maniac if he didn't follow orders, i seem to recall him saying
"Use guns, not missiles, don't waste them"

BTW : I played through WCI again at the weekend, and found out that Maniac skragged the Drayman he was escorting with a HS, the full story was given to the player by Spirit,

Maniac was trailing a Dralthi as it strafed the Transport, he got lock and fired a HS at its engine exhaust, as he launched the missile, the Drathi did a tight half-loop and shook off the HS lock, the HS then aquired the Draymans engine exhaust and severly crippled the Draymans engines, the Kilrathi quickly finished the crippled Drayman off.
