if you had a kilrathi dreadnought and a few trillion credits?

Firstoff, which Sivar?

And what the hell is a Fleetkiller?

And what are you trying to do? The Behemoth's useless against pretty much everything, despite having a really big gun.

the only sivar i know of is the one from wc1. im assuming he means that one

he said the bug fleetkiller. it could mean either ship with that big gun and may include the midway.

in terms of raw firepower, the behemoth stands above anything. dosn't matter if it cant hit a ship.

Sivar class Dreadnought from SM1, Sivar class SuperDreadnought from the movie.

Tiamat and Kraken <G>? I think they called the altter the far-less-sensational "shipkiller" <G>

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU JUST SAID.

I think he makes sense, since the question was what was the most powerful gun, not what was the most acurate or practicle in ship to ship fighting. IIRC, Halycon mentions Intel believed the Sivar class dreadnaught main gun wasn't a threat to the Claw because it could manuver out of harms way before the gun could fire at it. That was one thing that was impressive about Death Star II, they were able to accquire and fire at mutiple cap ships in a relatively short amount of time. Of course, I'm now wandering into another universe. :)

But a powerful weapon that can't hit anything is pretty useless. How would a Behemoth cope against a wing of bombers or a couple of corvettes?

Exactly. What good was that really powerful gun then?

So we need massive numbers of escorts. Which use their weak weapons to take out the other ships.

How many fighters would a ship like the Behemoth need for effective protection?

Hmm, a lots, I guess. But then, what Wing Commander doesn't have is something like Imperial SSD Executor or Eclipse. An omnious warship.
But then again, it wouldn't be a Wing Commander anymore...
And sue me for mentioning Star Wars:D

I'm confident that several squadrons of Wasps, Vampires and Devastators, plus several SWACS and 2-3 Hades class cruisers to base them off would suffice.

the sm1 sivar is the one with any sort of supergun. since the rest of the things he mentioned are superguns the seeming obvious one is the one from secret missions 1

i don't have proph and have no prospects of getting it in the near future. i heard it called shipkiller and fleetkiller about an equal number of times. but since you understand which weapon im talking about i got the point across. since you dislike it being called the fleetkiller, i will call it the christmas light from now on.

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU JUST SAID.

think about what i just said. i said in terms of raw firepower. the firepower is still the best, nomatter where it hits.

if you need that much protection, just use the escort for anti-capship work and don't build a behemoth.

All that creative genius and thats all you could come up with? Wow, the Insults thread must have really taken its toll on you! ;) You could have called it the B.F.A.G. But that's stupid........hmm......oh well, I'm at work and have no creative abilities whatsoever while I'm here...........Christmas Light definately sounds better than that! Or how about That Big Ass Gun Thing.........

or it could be what its called over at spacebattles. and you know what loaf thinks about them :) he might just order me to start calling it a fleetkiller again ;)
(Disclaimer: the above has been a joke. no insult has been intended)

What about the Kilrathi Dreadnaught? Or to a lesser extent the Versuvius?

What about a 17 klick long superuberdreadnought with 1000000cm equivilant hull and Tiamat fleetkiller Byefge?

Plus 4,370 fighters? :D

(I wonder how much that would cost Confed...and how many decades it'd take to build :D)

Sorry... you know, spacebattles regular...stupidity is habit forming. :D ;)

That still leaves the question of how long the Behemoth and Dreadnought took to build. :)
