Hi, I'm new

i wish there was a higher difficulty setting. i guess i will have to use a trainer to increase opponents capibilities.

wheres the fun in that? :p

anyway i like to challange myself. once i flew a fanmade mission in SO where i had to fight 5 midways and all thier fighters. damn was that fun :) i eventually died of course.

If today were Opposite Day, I'd be telling you you were right. But today is not Opposite day.

that's what the original WC's are for... new ones are for visual stimulation, not challenge :)

all the games are easy. atleast the later ones have an ajustable difficulty setting.

I played that mission only recently and I smashed my undamaged Broadsword flying at 320kps into an asteroid. It took all of my front shield and I'd say 95% of the front armour. So if you get damaged just a bit in the mission, an asteroid collision is fatal.
Funny, I recall only losing shields and chipping the armour...

Actually, I liked fighting in asteroids in Privateer because when you go full speed the enemies run into the asteroids. Especially the Kilrathi. If your a good pilot you have the advantage. Although, if you suck at flying, you're done.
I don't believe I 'suck' at piloting, but flying at full speed in Privateer asteroids usually guarantees death for me. There's always that stray asteroid that should have been 'cleared' from memory, but still seems to be there and homes in on your ship.

IIRC, Hard and Crazy goes between Ace and Nightmare. WCP/SO only has one level between Ace and Nightmare - Hero.

IIRC, you must not stay and fight the Kilrathi you see at the nav point but afterburn immediately in the opposite direction.

Oh, that mine mission. I remember that, I always tried to kill all but the last (for killboard's sake) and then get out of there, but the stupid generic wingman would sometimes manage to get the last one and - BOOM! - pretty cutscene, not so pretty ending.
