RF... Wow. Broke the stick?!

My Mom did that once on my old C64 playing some kind of game where a monster was tyring to eat her (my Mom is a bigger game fan than I will EVER be)... I broke the trigger on my Saitek Cyborg (which by the way in its unbroken state is the most satisfying trigger known to man) firing off an AIM-54 with great satisfaction...

I HAVE an old stick, that came with WC2, some grey thing with blue buttons, I checked it out yesterday but it too refuses to work in DOS mode... although it is fine in Windows... I am starting to suspect maybe my Gameport or something won't initiate in DOS?

If you are using a Sound Blaster base card make sure you a J200 that the end of the SET BLASTER line in the autoexec.bat file.

my new Sidewinder came with a USB port. Is there anything better about that than the regular ones?

(at least I THINK it was a USB port, it is small and rectangular and is in no way attached to my soundcard)

John, RF, thanks for the tips :)

Mav, the USB is faster and also completely plug-and-play... Which makes a difference for some things, but a joystick, well I don't know how much better or faster they can get...

The only difference I've noticed is that... well, okay, the only difference I've noticed is that it plugs in faster :)

Mav, yeah... that's about it. In my experience, at least. I have 4 USB ports on my PC, and I had 2 on my old one, and I have never ever plugged anything into any of them. So there.

I HAD to plug my Sidewinder Precision 2 in a USB because it didn't come with anything else, which would really suck if I was using my older computer

THis is what ticks me off with the iMac...

The connectors are all stupid. End of story.

Although my friend who struggles with a parallel port Jaz drive would LOVE a USB connector...

Mom had one for a while... Computer science educator :)

So yeah, we used to have one of those colorful little blue devils here, but I'm strictly a Gateway man. Always have been. Cow Crazy :)

I'm using an HP, I would have gotten a Dell twice as fast but they bumped up the price RIGHT before I was able to get one

hey, this 1gig processor and 256 megabytes of ram was only 1500.. plus the nineteen inch monitor which makes it about 2000 bucks... hey, wait a sec, I think I just got jipped!

Oh really?

Would You care to enlighten us, or were Yu once again thinking I would answer no and didn't have the decency to post the entire thing at once?

Fishing for rank indeed...
