LOL they tried that with the 1950's movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie is seen as a great piece of work, and of course the big fright Orson Welles took care of in the 1930's is a great story, but it's not the ACTUAL story. I just LOVE the idea of foggy 19th century London and a Martian machine looming over London Bridge. For once let's follow the book... why not, it's a great story. And look at all the other classic remakes of late? Dracula, Frankenstein, The Island of Dr. Moreau, Moby Dick... all great and fairly following the original story. I like that.
I like the Welles reading too, of course, it's just not the original. I got the first 60 mins of the hearplay on cd... still looking for the rest of it, but now THERE's something really hard to get!
